Chapter 908
Sharon still wanted to refuse, but Wendy chimed in beside her. “Sharon, come on, let’s go out for a bit. Staying cooped up in your room all day isn’t good for you. You need to breathe some fresh air.”
Wendy was naturally lively and restless. After being shut indoors for so many days, she could barely sit still anymore. Seeing her friend’s eager expression, Sharon finally relented and nodded.
From that moment on, their itinerary rested entirely in Julliard’s hands. He insisted on personally arranging everything, determined to guarantee Sharon’s safety.
Listoria City was full of scenic spots, but Julliard had already cleared them in advance, ensuring no outsiders would intrude. The parks and streets might have felt strangely empty, yet being able to walk around freely still lightened Sharon’s mood.
Wendy, on the other hand, was ecstatic. She ran wild, snapping countless photos as if she had finally been set free.
By evening, after a full day of sightseeing, the three of them went to dine at a well-known romantic restaurant, a place popular among couples. The place was buzzing with guests, and while they ate, they even witnessed a proposal.
Wendy adored romance. She practically squealed with excitement, clapping and cheering along with the crowd.
When the proposal ended, the newly engaged girl turned, scanning the room. At last, her gaze landed on Sharon and Julliard. Smiling, she walked over, handed Sharon her bouquet, and passed the blessing on.
“You and your boyfriend look perfect together,” she said warmly. “I hope you’ll be happy forever.”
They really did look striking together—him tall and refined, her graceful and radiant. A handsome man and a beautiful woman; they were easily the most eye-catching couple in the
room.
Heat crept across Sharon’s face. Flustered, she stammered, “Sorry, we’re not—”
Before she could finish, Julliard smoothly reached out and accepted the flowers. With a polite smile, he said, “Thank you.”
In an instant, the crowd’s excitement shifted, turning from the newlyweds to Sharon and Julliard.
“Give her a kiss!” someone shouted. “Kiss! Kiss!”

Julliard knew Sharon couldn’t handle that kind of attention. He chuckled, deflecting easily.
“My girlfriend’s shy. A hug will do.”
He leaned in and wrapped her gently in his arms. His embrace was brief, chaste, but in her ear, his voice lowered into a whisper.
“Just to play along. No need to spoil the mood.”
True to his word, he released her almost immediately. The onlookers, satisfied with the gesture, offered their blessings before turning back to their own celebrations.
Sharon had no choice but to let it go.
After dinner, Julliard suggested taking her to see the fireworks, but Sharon declined.
“I’m a little tired. I’d rather head back and rest. Let’s save the fireworks for another time.”
The truth was, the entire outing had left her unsettled. Spending the day with Julliard felt too much like a date, and she couldn’t shake the awkwardness.
Fortunately, Wendy’s presence softened the strangeness, but even so, Sharon remained ill at ease. It was nothing like the simple, casual meals they’d shared before.
Seeing she wanted to return, Julliard didn’t press her.
“All right. I’ll drive you back to the hotel.”
The car pulled up at the entrance. Sharon and Wendy got out, but when Julliard followed, Sharon turned to him.
“Julliard, you don’t need to walk us up. We can manage.
“It’s not far, but accidents happen when you least expect them,” he replied calmly. “Come on, Sharon. The wind’s strong tonight. Let’s not linger here talking. Let’s go inside.”
He longed to drape his coat over her shoulders, but he knew she would only push it away and grow more distant. Restraining himself, he hid the impulse, though a flicker of shadow passed through his eyes.
Soon, he thought. Soon she wouldn’t keep him at arm’s length anymore.
The three of them stepped into the lobby, brushing past a man in a server’s uniform as they
went.
