Carter froze, then shuddered. 

Even Theo could see it now-Sharon no longer wanted to be with him. 

She had already built a new life. Without him, she would only flourish.

Now, his gaze was fixed intently on the stage, no longer concealing the burning passion in his eyes. 

“Sharon…” he whispered under his breath. 

All these years, he had watched over her in secret. He knew how extraordinary she truly was. It was 

Carter who had dimmed her light. 1 

And now, the dust had been brushed away, revealing her brilliance like a flawless pearl. 

Yes-if Carter hadn’t smothered her glow, he would never have stood a chance of drawing close to Sharon. 

He knew he wasn’t worthy of her. But it didn’t matter. So long as he could watch her from afar, that would be enough.

“Thomas, your charm really is something. In less than an hour, at least ten women tried to get your contact. With luck like this, your future girlfriend’s going to have her hands full.” 

Wendy had gone backstage to handle matters for the concert. John and Casey were about to perform, and couldn’t remain seated in the audience. 

Thomas only smiled faintly. “You yourself are hardly lacking in admirers.” 

Naturally, women had approached Xavier as well. But he sat deeper in the row, and each time someone came over, Matty spoke up first. 

“Hi, Madam, what business do you have with my daddy?” 

At the sight of Xavier-a married man with a child-the women could only retreat in disappointment. 

Matty had no intention of letting random women approach his father. His father was reserved for Sharon. 

Uriah sighed. “If only those useless brats in my family had half this charm… Ah, forget it.” 

He no longer bothered himself with Lex or Damien. 1
