“Well, I’ll listen to Adrian. As long as Adrian is well, I’m fine with anything.”
After being discharged, and at Jonathan’s insistence, Clara temporarily moved into an apartment under his name to recuperate. She tried to put her life back in order, but Adrian refused to let go.
Somehow, he discovered her address and went straight to her door.
The sharp chime of the bell rang again and again. When Clara saw the haggard figure outside on the security feed, her heart sank.
She didn’t want to open the door, but Adrian stood there relentlessly, pressing the bell without pause.”
At last, she pulled the door open.
With a dull thud, Adrian dropped to his knees in the hallway.
Clara froze, stunned, staring at him.”
“Clara!”
His reddened eyes lifted toward her, his hoarse voice trembling. “I was wrong–I truly know I was.”
“Vanessa and I are finished. I’ve sent her away. I’ll never see her again.”
“Please… forgive me. Give me another chance. Come back to me, all right?”
He crawled closer, trying to seize her hand, but she pulled away sharply.N
“Adrian, get up! You look pathetic like this.”
Her brows drew tight, her tone cold.”
“I won’t. If you don’t forgive me, I’ll stay right here.”
His loud pleas stirred the neighbors, doors cracking open as curious eyes peered out.<
Unmoved, Clara shut the door, cutting off his voice and his theatrics.
But Adrian’s obsession was far worse than she imagined.”
That evening, heavy rain pounded outside.
Adrian stood rooted at the base of the building, head lifted toward her floor, letting the storm drench him.”
It was this sight Jonathan saw when he arrived after hearing the news. His face darkened instantly. He barked orders, and bodyguards dragged the shivering Adrian into a car.
“He’s insane! Don’t bother with him!”
Then Jonathan went upstairs. Seeing Ciara pale and worn, his chest ached with distress laced with
She only shook her head wearily.
So, under the excuse of protection, Jonathan stayed that night in the guest room.
Outside, the storm raged on.
Near dawn, the doorbell rang faintly again.”
Startled, both looked toward the door.
Jonathan went first to the monitor. One glance–and his expression hardened.}
It was Adrian.%

anger.
A washed–out down jacket clung to him, threadbare at the seams, its cuffs crudely hand–stitched. A rough gray wool scarf circled his neck.
The sight made Clara’s chest tighten and her breath falter.
That jacket was the first winter coat she had ever bought him, after saving for months during their poorest days. That scarf- every uneven stitch–she had knitted herself through long nights, and he had worn it for years like a treasure.N
Now, there he stood in the cold rain, clad in relics of their past.!!
Jonathan caught the change in her eyes, the unhidden shock and nostalgia. A sharp jealousy and dread surged through him. He wanted to storm down and tear the man apart.
“Clara, don’t look at him. He’s doing this on purpose!” His voice strained with suppressed fury.N
As if sensing their eyes, Adrian glanced up at the camera and forced a defiant smile. Then it slipped away, replaced by bleak sorrow. He made no scene–only stood there in silence.M
Jonathan’s patience finally snapped, and he was about to head down when Adrian leaned toward the microphone, voice weak:
“Clara… I won’t force you anymore. I know nothing I say now can change anything…”
