To everyone’s shock, Aaron slowly lowered himself before Adam.
“Ha! You’d go this far for a woman who doesn’t love you anymore?” Adam sneered, his voice shrill with hysteria. “Aaron, you’re even stupider than I thought!”
Snickering, he grabbed an empty liquor bottle and hurled it at Aaron. Another followed. Most bottles shattered around Aaron, their flying glass shards scraping recklessly across his face and arms, leaving bleeding gashes.

Adam crooked his finger at Aaron like summoning a dog, signaling him to crawl across the floor littered with shattered glass.
