Chapter 42

Adams was on a call when a knock on his door interrupted him. His secretary quietly opened the door and walked in, but seeing he was on a call, she had to wait for him to finish before saying what she has to say. 

When Adams was finally done with his call, he turned to her. “What’s it?” He asked. 

“A lady is here to see you Sir, she has a business deal for you.” The secretary informed him. 

Adams nodded. “Send her in.” 

“Right away Sir.” The secretary replied before leaving. 

After she left, it didn’t take long for Bianca to walk in, on seeing her, Adams couldn’t help but frown deeply, she’s been out of his hair for a while now, and he couldn’t have been more pleased thinking he’s actually gotten rid of her, but here she is again. 

“I thought I made it clear to you that I don’t ever want to see you in my company, and who the hell let you in here!?” He fumned. 

Bianca mentally rolled her eyes at him, she then went to take a seat in front of him. “Why don’t you just relax Adams, you’re always giving me the cold shoulders.” She huffed. “I’m here for business, that’s why they let me in, and besides, do you think you could easily get rid of me?” She scoffed. 

“I don’t want to have any business deals with 

you so leave my company this minute!” Adams angrily replied. 

“That’s so unprofessional of you Adams, you can’t s seem to keep personal matters out of business dealings, can you for once just forget about the kind of relationship we have and let’s be reasonable.” 

Adams scoffed in disbelief. “We share no relationship Bianca, and you have no right to tell me how to handle things, if I want to bring personal matters into business dealings, then it’s none of your fucking business. I don’t want to hear anything you have to say, so just get the hell out of here!” 

Bianca bit her bottom lip to try hold back the yell she wants to yell at him at this moment. “You should know about my family’s company, and you must also know that our company is one of the most successful company in the country, not just the country but worldwide too. Now imagine us being partners, how good will that be, and you’re also going to benefit a lot if we were to come together, both companies I mean.” 

Adams was well aware about her successful their company is, it’ll be a great thing to partner with them, but since Bianca is the one presenting this offer, that thought doesn’t sit well with him at all. He just can’t help but feel that she might actually be up to something, because why bring a business deal out of nowhere. 

Adams sighed deeply. “I’m afraid I can’t take on your offer Bianca, you should also not forget that my company is also very successful worldwide. I’m going to pass on this one.” He replied bluntly. 

“Wait what!?” Bianca blurted out in shock. “Why? Because of us? Is that why you’re turning this deal down?” She questioned in 

disbelief. 

“First of all, there is no us Bianca, and I don’t really have to give a reason for turning down your offer, I just don’t want to partner with your company.” 

“You seriously are unbelievable Adams Carter. Tell me this then, if this deal has been brought to you by another company, you have turned it down? Huh?” She asked, but Adams said nothing, he simply opened his laptop and began working. 

“You can see yourself out when you’re done, this conversation is over.” He said, not taking his eyes off his laptop.

Bianca scoffed in disbelief. “You really are the worst!” She cursed, then she angrily stood up, she wanted to just leave, but she can’t let him have the last say. 

“By the way, I ran into your ex wife this morning.” She said, and that was when Adams looked at her.

“What?” 

“Want to know what I told her?” She smirked, then she leaned forward. “I told her that I was your fiance and surprisingly, she didn’t even seem to care.” She said with a fake sad expression on her face. 

“Poor you Adams, chasing after a woman that wants nothing to do with you and has obviously moved on with her precious life.” 

“What?” 

Bianca chuckled. “My business is done here, see you later.” She flashed him a smile before leaving. 

After Bianca left, her words rang in Adams ears once more. “I told her that I was your fiance and surprisingly, she didn’t even seem to care.” 

Adams angrily hit his table with his hands. “That damn bitch! What the hell did she do!” He fumed. 

“I need to see Alicia.” He grabbed his phone, stood up and rushed out of his office. 

Adams really has no idea where he should go look for Alicia, he couldn’t tell if she was at home or at the company, after a little contemplation, he decides to go check up on her at home first. 

His driver insisted on taking him to wherever he wants to go, but Adams refused and insisted on driving himself. 

He got into his car and drove off immediately. It didn’t take too long for him to arrive at Alicia’s home because he drove at a high speed, when Adams got there, he stayed in his car for a little while as he braced himself up, when he was confident enough, he got out of his car and walked to her doorstep, then he pressed the doorbell. 

No one answered at first, even after a few more trials, it made Adams think that maybe no one was home. He was about leaving when the door knob clicked and the door finally opened. 

He was expecting to see Alicia, but the person he saw was May. 

May had a look of surprise on her face since Adams was literally the last person she was expecting to see.
