“Mommy who’s this?” Diane asked, still staring at Adams.
Alicia nervously wet her lips, she was so nervous right now but she did her best to not show it, she never wanted Adams to see Diane and now that he’s finally seen her daughter, she’s feeling so furious, but one thing is for sure, she’s never letting him come close to her daughter or telling him the truth about who Diane is.
“It’s no one honey, why don’t you just go inside first, I’ll be right there with you.” She gently pushed Diane inside, not giving the little girl any chance to argue.
All the time, Adams could take his eyes off Diane for even a single second, he was memerized by the little girl and couldn’t look away from her, even as Alicia pushed her in, he kept stretching his neck to get one more glance at her.
When Alicia has successfully had Diane to go inside, she turned to look at Adams, her eyes blazing with fury and anger
written all over her face.
“What the hell are you doing here Adams? And who gave you the right to show up right this huh?” She asked, her eyes spitting fire.
“That little girl…” Adams trailed, he was filled with so much emotions after seeing Diane and all he wants to do is hug her so tight, all he wants to do at the moment is hug his daughter so tight. “That little girl is my daughter.” He said, and it wasn’t a question, it was a direct statement.
“What?” Alicia muttered, she was so sure that Adams knew nothing about her being pregnant before leaving so how is he so sure that Diane is his daughter? How does he even know that?
“Diane is my daughter, right Alicia?” He asked.
Alicia shook her head. “What rubbish are you talking about, Diane doesn’t belong to you so don’t you ever open your damn mouth to call her yours because you’re not the father of Diane and you’ll never be her father!” She stated in rage. “And I can clearly seen you’ve done your research on me since not only do you know my house but you also know the name of my child.
“She folded her hands across her chest.
“You don’t have to deny it Alicia, I know she’s mine, the doctor told me you were carrying my child before you left, I did everything I could to find you but I couldn’t, I’m really sorry for-”
“Hold on ” Alicia interrupted. “What did you say?”
Adams took a deep breath. “A month after you left, I had caught a flu and I went to the hospital, Doctor Rose asked me about you and she told me you were carrying my child, I also remember you trying to tell me something that night, but I was so foolish I didn’t give you a chance to speak and I…” He trailed, not being able to continue because each time he remembers that night, it only brings him too much pain and regret and he hates himself even more.
“I know Diane is my child Alicia, she’s the baby you were carrying six years ago.”
Alicia couldn’t believe Doctor Rose told Adams about her pregnancy, but then she couldn’t blame the doctor because she
never asked her to keep it a secret and due to her excited when she found out she was pregnant with Diane, the doctor must
have thought she shared the news with Adams, not knowing she never got the chance to.
Even though Adams strongly believes that Diane belongs to him, she’s never going to admit that truth to him, she isn’t even willing to admit it to him, she’s going to deny it because she doesn’t want Adams back in her life or her daughter’s life, not
after what he’s done, he doesn’t deserve Diane, nor does he deserves to be called her father.
“Alicia” Adams called softly when she didn’t say anything.
“You’re right, I was carrying your child back then, but that baby…I lost the child I was carrying, I lost your baby Adams and you see Diane, Diane doesn’t belong to you, she has a father and a responsible one at that.” She said with gritted teeth. “I can’t believe you would think Diane is yours.” She scoffed bitterly “You’re not the father of Diane Adams, and I’ll like it if you can stay the hell away from us because if you don’t, I’ll have to report you to the authorities.” She said, then she went inside and

slammed the door in his face.
Adams took sometime to process her words, she said she lost his baby but why is he finding that hard to believe, things
aren’t clear yet and he doesn’t understand anything.
“Alicia! Alicia please open the door, we still need to talk, please open the door Alicia.” He begged, while banging his fist on the
door.
Alicia ran her hand through her hair, she was standing in the living room with May and Diane was also present. May has a look of annoyance on her face because she wasn’t pleased with the way Adams was banging on the door and calling out to
Alicia, Diane is bound to know something is up and Diane being Diane, she’s obviously going to start asking questions.
May waited a while thinking Adams was going to stop, but when he didn’t, she lost her cool. “I’ll handle this.” She said before marching off.
Alicia had to take a sit for a moment.
“Mommy what’s going on?” Diane asked as she walked to her. “Who’s that man and why is he banging on our door?” She asked.
Alicia pulled her to herself and hugged her lovingly. “It’s no one baby, don’t concern yourself with him and I do hope you’re ready now, you’re already late for school and we need to get going.” She pulled away from the hug, then she dressed Diane’s
hair.
“I’m ready mommy, I just need to go get my bag.”
“Alright dear, go upstairs and get your bag, while I get the car keys okay?”
Diane nodded before running off.
Immediately Diane left, May returned and Alicia stood up.
“I already got rid of him, I warned him not to show his face here again or we’ll be forced to involve the police and get a restraining order on him.”
Alicia smiled weakly. “Knowing Adams, I doubt he’ll listen.”
“Well he doesn’t know me either and I’m so damn serious about this.” May fumed. “Why the hell did that man even come here!?” She groaned in frustration.
“He knew Diane was his May, the doctor told him I was carrying his child.” Alicia said and May’s eyes widen in shock.
“What?”
