Chapter 9
Adams car pulled up in the hall where the event was taking place, when he got down, he heaved a deep breath before going in.
When Adams went in, he was shocked to see so much people in attendance, the crowd in the hall was just too much, he tried his possible best to sight Alicia, but he couldn’t see her anywhere and that made him groan in frustration, there’s no way he’s going to find her with this much crowd in the hall.
Soon, a man came up stage and asked everyone to settle down, which they did, he gave his speech which took longer than Adams had expected, in fact, none of what the man was saying was even entering his head, all he wants is to see Alicia,
nothing else taking place here concerns him at all.
When the man was finally done giving his speech, Adam sighed in relief, soon, the man mentioned Alicia’s name and the sole reason for this event, the mention of her name alone made the crowd go wild and it took a whole lot to get them to calm down, when they were calm, the man finally invited Alicia up stage and seeing her made the crowd cheer even more than
before.
On seeing Alicia, Adams jaw dropped in shock, her photo on that flier was nothing compared to how she looked in person, there’s a whole lot that’s changed about her and her blonde hair which was once shoulder length has grown even longer and more beautiful, she was putting on a lovely white dress which hugged her body tightly and brought out all her curves with matching white heels, and a lovely smile graced her face.
When she took the mic and began addressing the crowd, Adams found himself falling for her all over again, she was even
more confident now and everything about her screams of success.
He overheard the people sitting beside him talking about her and he couldn’t help but listen to their conversation. One of the ladies bragged about how successful Alicia was and how her books were gold and amazing to read, then she went ahead to bring out a copy of Alicia’s latest book.
Adams got a glimpse of the book and the cover alone got his attention, then he went ahead to ask the lady if he could take a look at the book, and on seeing how handsome he looked, the lady blushed and was more than happy to give the book to him.
Adams took a look at the cover for just a little while longer before turning to the first page of the book, when he read the first chapter, he was amazed, even when they were still together, he never had the chance to go through her works back then until now and he couldn’t believe how smart she was, once again, he was filled with regret, this only proves how absent he’s been
in the things she does.
Alicia ending her speech brought his attention back to her, he then gave the book back to the lady who was obviously still blushing, but Adams had his eyes only on Alicia and Alicia alone.
Alicia went back to her seat and the meet and greet began, fans lined up to meet her and get her autograph, there was also so many presents given to her by her fans, people also took the opportunity to praise her in person and inform her about how great her books were and how it has positively impacted their lives.
The meet and greet took longer than Alicia expected since she never expected this much people to attend, but she was patient all the way, and when it finally came to an end, she excused herself and left the hall in a hurry, she had promised Diane that she’ll be back early, but she never expected this much people to attend.
Adams who has been impatiently waiting for her wasted no time in going after her when she left the hall.
Alicia quickly got to her car and was about going in when she heard the all too familiar voice call out to her.

No matter how long it’s been, she still remembers Adams voice so well and she froze when he called her name.
“Alicia” Adams called out to her once more and this time, she slowly turned around to face him
On seeing him, it felt like time suddenly stopped, Alicia was so shocked to see him standing right in front of her, his face brought back past memories that she didn’t want to remember, memories that took her so long to bury deep inside. It was

She sharply turned around, quickly opened her car door and was about rushing in, but Adams quickly went to her and stopped her from going in, then he slammed the door shut.
“What the hell is wrong with you!? Who do you think you are?” She yelled in rage, breathing heavily, her eyes held nothing
but hatred for him.
“Alicia please listen to me, I…I’m so sorry for everything, I’m so sorry for how I treated you, I swear I’ve lived every single day of my life regretting everything I did to you, I truly regret everything and all I want is to make things right with you.”
Alicia scoffed at first and then she burst into laughter and it took a while for her to calm down.
“Sorry? Make things right? Regret!?” She scoffed. “You’ve got to be kidding me Adams, do you even hear yourself right now?”
She asked, and then she hissed loudly.
“You must be so sick in your head and out of you goddamn freaking mind!” She spat. “I’m not interested in whatever rubbish you have to say and I want absolutely nothing to do with you, do you hear me!?” She glared hatefully at him.
“Alicia pl-”
“Enough!” She instantly cut him off. “Not a single word from you.” She ordered.
“This better be the last time we cross path Adams, I’m warning you.” She warned.
She angrily opened her car door, almost hitting him in the process, but she couldn’t care less, in fact she hated the fact that she missed and wished she did hit him, she got into her car and drove off with great speed.
Adams couldn’t do anything except watch her leave, he knew better than to stop her, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up on
her.
Yes she’s angry and hates him so much, all this he had expected and she has every right to feel that way towards him, but he’s not willing to give up on getting his ex wife back.
“I won’t give up on you Alicia, I promise.” He silently vowed.
