Chapter 21
Damien was completely stunned, and his mind was wiped clean of any thoughts.
Avery knew about everything!
A massive wave of fear and uneasiness crashed over him, causing him to shake uncontrollably.
Meanwhile, Eldon had no idea what was going on. He frowned, asking, “Did Damien make you angry, Avery? I’ll teach him a lesson if that’s true.”
Avery shook her head before retrieving her baby’s DNA test from her bag. “Everything I just said is the truth, Eldon. I’m not just lashing out because I’m angry. Here’s the proof.”
Eldon was trembling as he took the DNA test from her. The report stated that Damien wasn’t the father of the baby in Avery’s stomach.
Damien could already guess what sort of evidence Avery had gathered. He rushed to explain himself.” Things aren’t what you think, Avery.”
Avery scoffed. “What? Are you going to tell me that you’re not the one who drugged me? Are you going to
say that you’re not the one who lied to me to force me to undergo IVF?”
“Avery,” Damien called out hoarsely before he was suddenly slapped by Eldon.
“You bastard! You could have just said that you didn’t want to marry Avery. Why did you marry her just to
torture her?”
“Don’t blame Damien, Mr. Whitlow Senior,” Serena said hurriedly. “The truth is, Avery is lying-”
“Shut your mouth!” Eldon roared. “You have no right to speak. Get out of my sight!”
He looked at his assistant, who was standing nearby, silently ordering him to throw Serena out of the hall.
The hall’s doors were thrown open, and a group of bodyguards clad in all-black swarmed in. Julian walked into the hall after them, dressed in a white suit. It didn’t take long before everyone in the vicinity caught a glimpse of his flawlessly handsome face.
Damien’s entire body stiffened, and he wondered why Julian had decided to make an appearance now of all times. He subconsciously glanced at Avery as a frightening thought began to form in his mind.
Julian strode over to Avery when he spotted her in the crowd. The cameras’ lights flashed endlessly as the crowd whispered among themselves.
“Why is Julian here? Doesn’t he have bad blood with Damien?”
“I don’t know, but look at his clothes. Doesn’t he look like a perfect match with Avery?”
“He’s been staring at Avery ever since he showed up, and I can tell that his gaze isn’t completely innocent. Oh, right. Didn’t Avery say just now that the baby in her stomach doesn’t belong to Damien?”

Damien realized that something was amiss when he heard the last sentence. He swiftly put himself between Julian and Avery, demanding, “What are you doing here?”
Julian’s eyes were still fixed unwaveringly on Avery. He smiled and answered, “My wife is here. I’m here to
take her home.”
Damien froze before blurting out, “What nonsense are you spouting? Your wife isn’t here!”
Julian ignored him. He pushed Damien aside before extending a hand toward Avery.
Avery hesitated for only a moment before she offered her hand to Julian, who held it tightly. Damien’s temper exploded as he looked at their intertwined hands, his eyes reddening. He lunged at them, wanting to pull them apart, but was stopped by Serena, who rushed over to him.
“Mr. Whitlow Senior, Avery lied to you!” Serena exclaimed, pointing at Julian. “Damien isn’t the one at fault here. In fact, Avery was the one who betrayed him! If you don’t believe me, the baby in her stomach is the best proof I can offer you. Julian is the father of her child.
“Damien, I know that you wanted to give Avery another chance since the two of you are married, but not only did she not appreciate your kindness, but she even tried to slander your good name. Since the situation has come to this, there’s no need for you to hide the truth for their sake any longer.”
