Chapter 65

“What are you doing here?” Justin frowned at Nadine.

“Am I not allowed to be here?” Nadine smiled bitterly as she walked toward Justin. “Jus, if I hadn’t been looking at Michael’s social media, I wouldn’t have known that you went to pester Elena. And Mr. Golden

even…”

Justin glared at Michael.

“Well, Justin, I suddenly remembered I have something to do. I’ll get going first!” Michael tried to slip

away.

“Get back here!” Justin shouted.

Hearing the genuine rage in Justin’s voice, Michael didn’t dare to run. Otherwise, the consequences might

be worse than a simple beating.

Michael said, “Justin, I just couldn’t stop myself. Why don’t you just beat me up to vent?”

Justin said icily, “I’m not going to beat you. I’m going to give you a chance to make up for it.”

Michael froze. “What sort of chance?”

Justin replied, “Figure out a way to get Lena to meet me.”

Justin knew that there was no way Elena would agree to see him if he asked her himself.

Nadine shrieked, “Jus! Are you still trying to meet her?”

“Shut up for now!” Justin snapped at her. Then, he turned back to Michael. “Can you do it?”

“I think I can?” Michael scratched his head. “Anyway, I’ll just figure something out.”

“Good. Get it done quickly. The sooner, the better,” Justin said.

“Alright, then I’ll take my leave now!” Michael quickly turned around and left when he saw that Justin didn’t object. But he didn’t forget to sneak a glance at Nadine before he left.

Nadine had such an interesting expression on her face at that moment. It was such a pity that Michael didn’t dare to stay put and watch the drama unfold.

At this moment, Nadine was full of complaints she wanted to voice. But after some thought, she asked pitifully, “Jus, are you okay? Does it still hurt?”

She crouched down and rested her head against Justin’s chest. Her soft, caring gesture eased his expression slightly.

“I’m fine.” Justin raised a hand and stroked her hair. “Don’t worry about me.”

Nadine said, “How could I not worry? Jus, after everything Elena did to you, you’re still trying to contact her

Justin interrupted her, “Her uncle is an executive at Miller Group.”

“What?” Nadine’s expression changed. “How could that be?”

Elena had never mentioned it before.

“Michael saw him with his own eyes,” Justin said. “He wouldn’t dare to make up something like this.”

Nadine bit down hard on her lip. So Elena actually had ties to the Miller Group.

Justin explained, “I need Lena to put in a good word for me with her uncle. I have to get her back as soon

as possible.”

“You shouldn’t…” Nadine panicked. “Jus, I can help you too! Maybe not right now, but I’ll definitely figure

something out in the future!”

Justin had a helpless look on his face. “I know. But Nadi, isn’t it better to have a backup plan?”

Tears glistened in Nadine’s eyes, but she didn’t dare to argue anymore.

She knew how much Justin valued a potential partnership with Miller Group, so she couldn’t object too strongly. Otherwise, how furious would Justin be if he found out one day that she had been lying to him all along?

After a shower, Elena stood in front of the mirror and applied the ointment.

The cool mint sensation seeped into her wrist, where red marks bloomed across her skin.

As she recalled the night’s events, a thought popped into her head. Had Alexander suddenly gotten angry and even kicked Justin because the latter had hurt her?
