Romina quickly threw on a coat and hurried downstairs.

She walked briskly out of the yard, heading straight for that familiar figure.
“How did you know I was here?” When she reached the man, she looked up at him curiously. “Could it be that what Terry said is true, did you really have someone follow me?”
The man’s fingers paused slightly as he held the cigarette.
The next second, he quickly tossed the cigarette away, then wrapped one arm around her waist, pulling her closer in an instant.
The sudden closeness made Romina’s heart race wildly again.
Joaquin looked down at her, his voice much lower. “What exactly is your relationship with him? Lovers? An affair?”
Romina’s brows furrowed sharply. “Mr. Bowman, what nonsense are you talking about? Haven’t I already explained his identity to you?”
“This is the first time you’ve held another man’s hand in front of me…” Joaquin’s voice rose. “And you tell me there’s nothing between you?”
Suddenly, Romina recalled that moment at the food street.
She had indeed grabbed Terry’s hand in a moment of urgency.

As his voice fell, he suddenly pulled her even closer.
Joaquin turned around and pressed her entire body against the side of the car.
The sudden movement made Romina’s body tremble slightly in fright.
She lifted her eyes in shock and looked at him. “Mr. Bowman, what are you trying to do?”
“Two choices.” The man braced his hands on either side of her shoulders, lowering his gaze to her face. “Either come with me tonight, or let me stay with you.”
The shock in Romina’s eyes suddenly grew even more intense.
She looked at him in disbelief. “Are you crazy? How could I possibly let you stay with me?”
“What? Afraid your little lover will find out?” Joaquin’s lips curled into a cold, thin smile, his voice especially hoarse. “Don’t worry, he won’t discover me.”
“No way!” Romina reached out with her fair, jade–like hand, trying to push him away. “I choose neither. Leave, now!”
Joaquin seized her wrist in response, his grip tightening. “Romina, do you want me to force you to make a choice?”
As soon as he said this, Romina’s heart began to race.
She naturally understood what he meant.
He was saying that if she didn’t make a choice, he would surely do something even more humiliating in front of Terry.
“There’s no way I can go with you, and even less can I let you stay with me. Please, don’t make things difficult for me, okay?”
There was a trace of a sob in Romina’s voice, and upon hearing it, the man suddenly
softened.
Joaquin reached out to cup her cheeks, his voice gentle and soft. “Then give me a kiss, and I’ll leave.”
