She frowned slightly. “What are you doing here?”
Jericho didn’t say a word. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her toward the lounge.
“Bang-”
The loud sound of the door slamming echoed through every corner.
Jericho threw her onto a chair, looking down at her from above. “Were you the one who exposed Nadine’s scandal?”
Romina let out a cold laugh. “Who told you I did it? Was it Nadine?”
“On the day Grandpa had his accident, Nadine’s car was sideswiped. After the police investigation, it turned out the driver was one of her anti–fans, someone who already disliked Nadine. This scandal just pushed her over the edge!”
“Oh…” Romina said with a half–smile. “So it was an anti–fan? I suppose they finally did something right for once.”
”
As soon as she finished speaking, Jericho looked at her in disbelief. “Romina, do you know what you’re saying?”
“I wasn’t the one who exposed her scandal. If you want to accuse me, please show me the evidence. Otherwise, I’ll sue you for defamation.”
Romina stood up, staring at him coldly, her voice especially low.
“Other than you, who else would go after her like this?”
The smile on Romina’s lips grew even wider. “She’s been in the entertainment industry for so many years. Surely I’m not the only one who dislikes her, am I?”
A chill flashed in Jericho’s eyes. “If I find out it was you, I won’t let you off easily.”
Romina’s smile deepened, a hint of mockery appearing on her face.
Three years ago, he protected that woman, even sending her to prison.

Three years later, he was still threatening her for that same woman.
It was utterly ridiculous!
She lifted her head and spoke each word clearly: “Jericho, do you even have a heart?”
After listening to her words, Jericho’s eyelashes trembled ever so slightly.
At this moment, Romina looked exactly like she had three years ago, right before she went to prison.
Back then, she had entered in tears, her whole being shattered and fragile, looking at him with the same cold, gloomy gaze.
But now, aside from that chilling coldness, there was nothing else in her eyes.
There wasn’t even the slightest trace of affection for him left.
“If you dare to slander me again, I won’t let you off either!”
“Romina, you…”
Before Jericho could finish his sentence, Romina pointed toward the door and said, “While I still have patience, please leave immediately.”
This reaction made the man seethe with anger.
But in the end, he didn’t stay; he turned and left.
Romina watched his departing figure, her hands at her sides clenching involuntarily for a moment.
As soon as Miguel left, Elliana arrived.
Romina was sitting at the consultation desk when she saw Elliana bringing Lina to the wellness clinic.
She pointed toward the door and asked, “Why is that dog of a man here again?”
Before Romina could say anything, Miguel suddenly interjected, “Ms. Castro, the child is here! Watch your language!”
“Did I say anything wrong? He really is a dog of a man!” Elliana glared at him. “You men are
all the same.”

“Hey…” Miguel grew anxious. “Don’t lump me in with him!”
“Did I mention your name? Why are you so eager to take the blame? Afraid others won’t know you’re just like him….
“I am indeed born in the year of the dog, and I am a man, but I’m not a dog of a man.” Miguel glared at her. “Keep talking nonsense and I’ll call the police on you.”
“Romina, listen to him, does that even sound like a human being talking?”
Elliana looked at Romina with dissatisfaction, her tone full of astonishment.
Romina had been in a bad mood because of Jericho’s visit, but listening to their bickering, she couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.
“You two can keep chatting, I’m getting off early today and taking Lina out for dinner.”
Romina picked up her bag and took the child, preparing to leave the wellness clinic.
Elliana shot Miguel a glare and quickly caught up. “Hey, wait for me…”
Behind them, Miguel’s nagging voice rang out: “You’re all leaving and leaving me to work overtime alone? That’s just not fair.”
***
Today, Romina wanted to take Lina out for a meal, so she had Elliana pick up the child and come to the wellness clinic to find her.
By the time dinner was over, it was already past eight o’clock.
After coaxing the child to sleep, Romina went downstairs for a drink of water. Elliana was still in the living room on the first floor.
Seeing Romina come down, she spoke while playing a game: “An old client came looking for you today. Apparently, a floor vase broke and he wants you to help restore it. But it’s a bit tricky–the vase is 1.3 meters tall, not an easy job. He wants to know if you’ll take it?”
