Sabrina glanced toward the lounge, but eventually walked over to the sofa and sat down across from him. 

“I just happened to be passing by, so I brought you a lunchbox.” Sabrina curiously pointed toward the lounge. “It’s still morning. Why did you come out of the lounge?” 

“I worked late last night and didn’t get enough rest.” 

The man’s tone was indifferent as he took out a cigarette and lit it. 

Sabrina nodded thoughtfully, then handed him the lunchbox. “Now that you’ve rested, eat the lunch I made! I spent an hour making it, and it’s all your favorite dishes.” 

Joaquin exhaled a puff of smoke and said calmly, “You’ve been away from Thalberg for so long. Doesn’t your husband urge you to go back?” 

“I’m already going through divorce procedures with him. I’ll get the certificate by the end of this month.”

Sabrina suddenly stood up and walked over to Joaquin. 

She sat down beside him. “Joaquin, you know the reason I married him in the first place–it was just to spite you. Especially these past two years of marriage, all I could think about was you. And since you still haven’t gotten married, that’s why I resolutely decided to divorce him…”

“I have other things to do. You should go back first!”

Seeing the man’s slightly displeased expression, Sabrina finally nodded. “Alright.”

Romina was sitting alone on the sofa by the window, her back to him, lost in thought. 

The man quickly approached, placing his hands on either side of the sofa back, lowering his gaze to look at her profile. “Did you do that on purpose just now?” 

Romina instinctively swallowed, turning her head slightly to glance at the man behind her, feigning ignorance. “Do what on purpose?” 

She had actually been eavesdropping on their conversation the whole time. When she heard that Sabrina was going to get a divorce for her sake, she suddenly felt shocked, her legs inexplicably weak. She accidentally bumped into the door, which caused it to close unintentionally. 

Joaquin extended his slender, well–defined hand and, in an instant, gripped her chin, forcing her to turn her face toward him. 

His tone was cold and indifferent: “Are you asking when you already know the answer?” The man’s lips were almost pressed against hers, making her heart race once again. Romina instinctively swallowed and said, “Mr. Bowman, isn’t Ms. Palmer’s divorce exactly what you want?” 

Joaquin’s brows furrowed slightly as he gazed at her in silence, not responding. 

Romina quickly broke free from his grasp, turned her face forward, and then stood up. 

The man straightened up as well, his eyes cold and indifferent as he watched her.
