I was in my office sipping wine and staring at the wallclock. Any moment now he would burst in and I’d watch him wallow in misery then finally announce to the board members the truth about 

Maple Group. 

‘Are you sure he’ll know it’s you?” Damon asked me. 

nodded, “I’m positive.” 

No sooner had those words left my lips that the door was suddenly thrown open. 

My assistant Ginny stood before the door with a somber expression. 

I tried to stop him, Miss but he wouldn’t listen,” she said. 

Donald was standing there in a disheveled suit. He looked like death with his scattered hair and 

unken eyes.

Then he went down on his knees and started sobbing pathetically.

Damon shrugged, “That’s exactly what I want especially since he stole everything he has from ny mother.” 

tapped my phone and grinned, “Oh look, it’s already made the news. The Reeds Empire has allen. The bank has foreclosed on all assets including bank accounts. 

Please, Kira, have mercy. My father is dying,” he cried. 

shrugged, “Maybe if you can admit to everything you’ve done to me then I will let you off.” 

‘I’m sorry we killed your family and ruined your life,” Donald said sobbing. 

He spent the next thirty minutes begging and crying and asking me to forgive him as he admitted to everything he’s ever done to me and my family, calling the names of my uncle, Troy, and Lily. 

When he finished I turned my ipad to face him and grinned.

Donald was stunned, he didn’t know he had been confessing to the entire world. 

“How could you do this to me?” he cried. 

The sound of the police siren sounded and no sooner they arrived in my office and grabbed him. 

‘Mr. Donald Reeds, you’re under arrest for conspiracy to commit murder, murder accomplice and other charges which will be read to you. You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to an attorney if you can’t afford one the state will give you one…” 

The policeman read his rights to him as they handcuffed him and dragged him out like a common criminal. 

The moment he was gone I heaved a sigh of relief. It felt like something had been lifted from my shoulders.

The door opened and Ginny walked inside with a smile.

I like how you’re trying to be positive about this, child, but there’s no trace of anything in our inances and we can’t even say what happened to it,” one of the board members said. 

smirked, “I had Ginny liquidate the account to one of our shell companies when I found out what Donald and the rest were planning. Maple Group isn’t bankrupt, we have all our money and
