Chapter 19-Reunions & Surprises 

Kira’s Pov 

“This is outrageous!” Donald yelled. 

I was just about to take a seat with Damon when his loud voice stopped us short. 

“What? We shouldn’t sit down?” I asked him. 

“What is this, Damon? You disappear for ten years and suddenly you’re back with someone who is supposed to be your brother’s wife?” his father suddenly spoke up. 

I scoffed, “Oh please, spare me. You and Donald are cut from the same coat, Mr. Lawal Reeds, don’t pretend like you don’t know I’m his ex-wife and he’s cozying up with my cousin, Lily” 

“I will not have you come to my house and insult me, young lady!” Lawal snapped 

I chuckled, “Would you prefer I do it outside then? Perhaps in the presence of adoring fans and media as I tell them that Donald learned all his vile tricks from you?” 

The man blinked momentarily stunned that I knew something about him. Then he suddenly turned to Damon, his eyes flashing with anger. 

“Control her or I will. I don’t want to hear another vile word from her,” he said to him. 

Damon shrugged, “If you won’t hear it from my fiancee then you’ll hear it from me.” 

“What is the meaning of this madness, Kira? Are you acting up just to get our attention?” my uncle finally spoke. 

“Your mother would be ashamed to see you acting and clinging to a man like a whore,” his wife, 

Nadia added. 

My eyes flashed as I glared at her, “Don’t ever talk about my mother!” 

I stared at them, glad to see that his wife had recovered well enough to attend this party, quess everything was working out too well for me. 

“Cousin, what’s wrong? Are you upset because Donald divorced you and he’s now with me? Donnie really tried to make your marriage work but you were just so difficult toward him. I tried a fot of times to fix things between the both of you but you wouldn’t let me,” Lily said in her fake syrupy sweet voice. 

“Shut your fucking trap, bitch!” I snapped as I eyed her from head to toe and a smirk curved on my lips, “I’m glad to see you’re wearing the drons I got for you. Did you finally realize you’re too broke to afford a dress yourself?” 

“Okay, I’ve had enough of this shit Donald suddenly snapped and stood up, dragging me 

“Come with me,” he said 

I tried to wriggle away from him but he was stronger. 

“Let me go, asshole!” I snapped. 

Damon stood between us and he pushed Donald off me, his eyes shooting daggers at him. 

“Don’t fucking touch my woman that way unless you’re prepared to lose a hand!” Damon snapped. 

Something fluttered in my stomach with the way Damon declared me his woman. I knew he was

acting but my cheeks colored slightly. 

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, she’s my wife!” Donald retorted. 

I scoffed, “Last I checked we are divorced, you signed the papers yourself.” 

Damon nodded, “And you announced it oubligy.” 

“I just wanna talk to her!” Donald stressed. 

I smirked and turned to Damon, “Don’t worry, I can handle him.” 

I followed Donald outside as I stared at him, my eyes filled with rage. 

“What do you want?” I demanded. 

“Why are you doing this? Are you trying to get back at me for what I’ve done to you?” he asked 

I scoffed, “Get your head out of your ass, Donald, everything isn’t about you.” 

“Then why find my step-brother that I haven’t seen for ten years and bring him back here just to make me jealous?” he demanded. 

I shrugged, “Have you considered that maybe I just wanna watch you suffer?” 

“You have nothing to gain by doing this, Kira. You’ve lost everything but I’m still willing to -” 

Before he could complete his sentence I slapped him hard across his cheek. 

“I warned you before, Donald, don’t ever say those words to me again,” I hissed at him. 

Then without waiting for him I turned and walked back inside the sitting room. 

The atmosphere was tense and I knew I had interrupted an argument between Damon and his father but he seemed relieved to see me. 

Donald stormed in a minute after with a red cheek as he dragged Lily. 

“Let’s go, we’re leaving. I’m sorry dad but I can’t St and these people,” he said. 

“But where are you going when the party has barely started?” a cruel voice said behind us.
