Chapter 94 Making It Up to Julian

Rosalie didn’t respond. She just let the silence speak for itself.

Abigail held Rosalie’s hand and patted it gently. “But you can’t hide from him forever. If you feel bad about it, then you should make it up to him.”

Rosalie kept her head down, her mood heavy.

Abigail softened her tone. “I’ve only met him twice, but I can tell he’s a responsible, reliable man.”

She paused, choosing her words carefully. “Maybe the circumstances weren’t quite in his favor. How

about making it up to him materially? You could buy him new clothes, new shoes, or even a phone or a

laptop?”

Rosalie’s eyes lit up.

She spent the night at the Ashford residence. But the next day, she still bit the bullet and went to the

office building next to the fire station.

The person in charge of the lease sported an ingratiating smile the second he saw her. “You must have some kind of magic, Ms. Ashford. How else did you get Mr. Yarwood to rent the best office to you?”

He handed her the contract, sounding even more eager to please. “I hope you might put in a good word

for me with Mr. Yarwood in the future.”

Rosalie managed a stiff grin, brushing it off as nothing but pure luck. After signing, she got out of there as

fast as she could. She couldn’t even bring herself to look at the station next door.

In the afternoon, Rosalie took Ursula to the biggest mall downtown. “I want to buy Julian a few outfits, Ursie. Can you help me choose?”

Ursula looped her arm through Rosalie’s with a sly smile. “I can’t believe it. Look who’s finally catching on.”

They headed straight into the upscale men’s store that Rosalie used to shop at.

The salesperson spotted her and came right up. “Are you here shopping for your boyfriend again, Ms. Ashford? We have fresh new stock. I can have them modeled for you right away.”

Ursula corrected the salesperson right away, “Nope. You’ve got it all wrong. It’s not for her boyfriend. It’s

for her husband.”

The salesperson froze for a second, then beamed with renewed enthusiasm. “Congratulations, Ms. Ashford! Right this way to our VIP room, please.”

Shortly after, models in fancy tailored suits came out. Rosalie’s eyes swept over them.

Her mind drifted back to the drenched suit under her fingertips in the bathroom. The material was

premium, cold, and slick.

The next second, she shook her head to get rid of the thoughts. “He doesn’t wear suits. He sticks to

casual wear.”

The salesperson nodded and motioned for the suit models to clear out. Moments later, another group of models filed in. They were decked out in fashionable casual outfits.

Ursula buzzed excitedly around the models, pointing at a branded tee. “I like this one, Rosa,”

She gestured toward a cargo jacket. “This one works, too. It suits his style.”

Rosalie looked through the options and frowned. She felt like none of these outfits looked better than

Julian’s usual black T-shirt and cargo jackets. Honestly, they felt beneath him.

But she went along with Ursula’s suggestions anyway and reluctantly picked out two outfits.

The salesperson handed over the shopping bag when a voice at the door called out, “Come on in.”

Rosalie subconsciously raised her head. The moment she looked up, her expression sank. Lucian was

walking over with Camelia on his arm.

She grabbed her shopping bag and took Ursula’s hand. “Let’s go, Ursie.”

Lucian called out, “Rosalie.”

He moved closer, looming over her as he warned, “Stop trying to use Mr. Yarwood to drive a wedge

between me and Melia. He’s not someone you can mess with.”

Before Rosalie could say a word, Ursula snapped, “What’s your problem, Lucian? Stay away from Rosa’s

business, you narcissistic jerk!”
