Chapter 77 Let Your Husband Take Care of You
Rosalie’s eyes lit up the moment she saw Julian, and she immediately tried to sit up in bed.
“Rosa, take it slow!” Abigail warned, moving to help.
But a tall shadow reached her faster.
Julian strode to the bedside in long, confident steps, sliding his strong arms under Rosalie’s back to hold her steady. His palms were scorching hot, the heat pressing through the thin hospital gown as if trying to sear into her skin.
Instinctively, she grabbed his strong forearm and tilted her head up to look at him anxiously. She had meant to ask about his injuries, but all that came out was the hoarse word. “Safe…”
Julian’s eyes fixed on her, and he nodded. “It’s safe in my unit,” he said in a low, steady voice that carried a calm, reassuring strength. “You can retrieve it once you’re discharged.”
Rosalie’s racing heart finally settled. She exhaled, noticing the thick bandages wrapped around his right
arm.
“Your injuries?” she asked.
“Minor. Nothing serious,” he replied casually, but she couldn’t forget how he had shielded her from every falling ember with his back and arms.
Tears welled in her eyes as she whispered, “Thank you. Without you today, I might not have made it out of
that fire.”
Suddenly, she remembered Abigail standing nearby and hoarsely introduced, “Mom, this is Julian Yarwood, captain at Harborview Fire Department.”
She then turned to Julian. “And this is my mother, Abigail Clark.”
Abigail’s eyes reddened again as she stepped closer, gratitude overflowing. “Captain Yarwood, thank you so much! Rosa told me what happened. Last time at the bar fire, you saved her, too… Truly, thank you!”
Julian’s expression remained calm. “It’s my duty to save lives. No need to thank me,” he said simply.
Rosalie turned to Richard and said, “Handle the company matters first. Leave no detail unchecked and make sure everything that needs investigating is covered.”
He nodded and left, and the door closed gently behind him.
Now, only the three of them remained in the room, and a subtle tension hung in the air.
Abigail studied Julian carefully, unable to hide her astonishment. She hadn’t expected Rosalie’s impulsive marriage to pair her with someone like him.
Standing around six foot three with broad shoulders and a narrow waist, even in a simple black T-shirt, his

Especially when he stood silently, the air of steadiness and reliability he gave off was a hundred times. stronger than Lucian’s superficial elegance.
Abigail felt a jumble of emotions, hoping Rosalie could finally move on from her failed romance. She thought that if Rosalie could find a new, healthy relationship to fill the void, perhaps she wouldn’t have been so deeply hurt by Lucian’s betrayal.
Julian seemed like a promising choice.
With that in mind, she suddenly picked up her bag.
“Rosa, since your husband is here, let him take care of you,” she said with a warm, motherly smile. “I’ll
head back for now and bring you some soup tomorrow.”
Rosalie froze, hurriedly calling after her, “Mom!”
Her expression was complicated, a mix of resistance and embarrassment. She really didn’t want Jualin staying behind to care for her.
Yet Abigail seemed oblivious to Rosalie’s discomfort and instead turned to Julian with a bright smile. Captain Yarwood, Rosa has been pampered by her father and me since she was little, so she’s a bit picky. She only eats fruit that’s been peeled, pitted, and cut into small pieces.
“She’s picky about her water, too-only 70°F water will do, not too cold, not too hot. And her bed has to be perfectly made when she sleeps.”
Finishing her list, Abigail gave Julian a scrutinizing look and finally smiled, asking, “All of this… shouldn’t be a problem for you, right?”
