Chapter 58 A Whirlwind Marriage
“What else could Rosalie be here for? She must be trying to stop Firmament System from being scrapped. What a waste of effort. Even Ms. Becker and Mr. Miller couldn’t solve the technical issue, so she’s just setting herself up for embarrassment.”
Camelia didn’t respond. She quickly washed her hands, excused herself with a quiet “I still have something to do”, and hurried out of the restroom.
Once she turned into an empty hallway, she immediately dialed Lucian. As soon as he picked up, her voice carried a mixture of grievance and hesitation.
“Lucian, Rosalie… She’s here at the Stellar Group. I think she came for the board meeting today. She’s probably going to stop Firmament System from being replaced.”
Camelia continued, “But… you know the issues with Firmament System, too. She’s putting me in such a tough spot. I’m torn between prioritizing Stellar Group’s interests and honoring our sisterly bond to help
her.”
Lucian’s voice instantly turned cold. “Did she ever consider your feelings when she made this move? You don’t owe her any consideration either! She’s gone too far this time. I’m calling her right now to demand she withdraw from the board meeting immediately.”
By the time Rosalie received Lucian’s call, she had already entered the conference hall. She calmly walked to her seat, put on her headphones, and only after the third call did she finally swipe to answer.
“Rosalie!” Lucian roared, his suppressed fury blasting through the line. “Did you not hear a word I said? Why do you insist on going against Camelia? Leave the board meeting right now!”
Her lips curled into a cold smile. “You should know better than anyone that I’m the rightful successor to Stellar Group. Attending the board meeting is my duty. Not even my parents can tell me to leave, so who
do you think you are?
Lucian’s voice grew even deeper. “You’re not the legal successor until you’re married, and you know perfectly well that Firmament System is obsolete. Camelia’s Skyvault System can replace it perfectly.
“No matter what you do, the outcome will be the same, so why humiliate yourself fighting her for the spotlight?”
“So, that’s what you think? That I’m the one desperate to compete with her?” Rosalie asked, letting out a low, cold laugh. “In that case, let’s wait until the board meeting is over. We’ll see what the results say.”
With that, she hung up and switched her phone to silent.
“Rosalie.” Steven from the tech department approached. He looked at her with concern. “About the flaws in Firmament System… Are you sure there’s a way to fix them today?”
Pulling out her laptop, Rosalie said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Miller. I’ve already implemented fixes and upgrades.

The goal is…”

She explained her plan with focused clarity while her phone screen kept flashing with incoming calls from
Lucian.
Steven listened and nodded repeatedly. He was about to ask more when he suddenly bent down and picked up a certificate folder from the floor. “Who dropped their marriage certificate?” he asked.
He flipped it open without thinking and froze in shock.
Rosalie quickly took it back. It must have slipped out when she pulled out her laptop, so she tucked it away again. She would need it later.
Lowering his voice in disbelief, Steven asked, “Ms. Ashford, when did you get married?”
“Half a month ago,” she replied. “Some sort of a whirlwind marriage.”
Steven sucked in a breath and then gave her a thumbs-up. Admiration was written all over his face, and he felt nothing but respect for her.
Rosalie was fearless. Just after being dumped by Lucian, she had immediately found someone even
better to marry.
Steven had only caught a glimpse of the man in the photo, but those sharp brows and upright posture said it all. He was someone handsome, capable, and reliable.
What a marriage, and what a comeback!
