Chapter 42 She Will Beg Me to Take Her Back
Camelia’s arm was linked with Lucian’s as they walked out, her face glowing with obvious delight.
“Lucian, thank you for coming here with me every time and never complaining once. I thought it’d never
happen.”
Lucian held Camelia’s hands, his tone tender as he spoke.
“You got it because you worked hard for it. When Prof. Fisher makes an official announcement about taking you as his apprentice, I’ll hold a big ceremony for you and get someone to bring your mom back to
the country.”
“Lucian, you’re the best.” Camelia’s eyes sparkled.
At the next moment, she saw Rosalie nearby, and she was surprised at once.
“Rosalie, what are you still doing here?”
Lucian immediately frowned. There was a hint of frustration in his eyes as he looked at Rosalie.
“Prof. Fisher just praised Camelia for her thesis. It’s time you gave up.
“First of all, you don’t have anything presentable right now. Even if you do, you have to look at all the apprentices he had taken in the past. All of them graduated from reputable colleges.
“You’ll just waste your time waiting around here.”
Rosalie was completely unfazed when she heard what he said. It was as if he were invisible. As she walked past him, she saw the door swinging open, and out came the same household staff.
She hurried over and asked, “Excuse me, but can I go inside now?”
The household staff flashed her a polite smile. “I’m sorry, Ms. Ashford. Prof. Fisher is going to take a nap
now.”
Lucian stepped forward and said, “See? Prof. Fisher doesn’t even want to meet with you.”
He tried to take her hand as he spoke. “Come on. You’re having lunch with us.”
Rosalie ducked out of the way, still ignoring Lucian. She stood tall and proud, every bit as stubborn as she
had always been.
Lucian’s patience had run out, and his tone suddenly turned sharp. “Rosalie, did you hear me?”
This time, Rosalie slowly turned sideways and gazed at him icily.
“You know I don’t want to have anything to do with you, and yet you keep trying to get me to talk to you. Why, Mr. Fenwick, I didn’t know you were this thick-skinned.”
“Why, you!” Lucian’s face turned red from rage.

“Lucian!” Camelia hurriedly chimed in softly. “Rosalie just can’t see it now. Let’s just give her some time to think it through. We should leave now. I made a reservation to celebrate our success.”
Lucian stared at Rosalie. Eventually, he snorted, took Camelia’s hand, and walked away. He had just taken a few steps before he paused again.
Without turning around, he said, “Sticking around here isn’t going to change anything. I know you can’t accept it, but you should still grab a bite first.”
Lucian remembered that Rosalie had stomach issues, and she couldn’t afford to skip meals.
Yet, Rosalie remained where she stood, not moving an inch. Two hours later, the household staff came
out once again.
She immediately approached him and asked, “Excuse me, but has Prof. Fisher woken up from his nap?
He shook his head apologetically.
“He has, but he’s now in a video conference. I’m sorry, Ms. Ashford…” The household staff trailed off before he spoke again. “You’re going to have to wait a little longer.”
Rosalie’s lunch break was over. She sent a text to Richard, telling him that she couldn’t go back to the company for the rest of the day.
Then, she mulled it over and decided to leave Manfred’s private residence for the time being.
Meanwhile, a video call was in full swing in the study.
“Did you see it?” An old man with gray hair was gloating to the person on the other side of the screen. “It’s been three hours since she’s waited for me outside, all because she wants to become my apprentice!”
The young man on the other end of the video chuckled helplessly. “Prof. Fisher, just how long are you going to make her wait for you? She might actually believe that you don’t want to take her as your apprentice and leave in a huff.”
“Relax!” Manfred waved with a chuckle. “She’s much more stubborn than you are. Once she’s made a decision, no man can change her mind.
“The moment I received her message, I knew she’d come looking for me. And now, she’s finally here!”
He stroked his beard, his expression cunning.
“I’m going to teach her a lesson and make her regret turning my offer down back then! She will be down on her knees, begging me to take her back!”
Manfred’s apprentice shook his head, feeling speechless.
That was when someone gently knocked on the study’s door. The household staff entered and said respectfully, “Prof. Fisher, Ms. Ashford has left.”
