Chapter 32 Her College Doesn’t Deserve Her Thesis

“What we have is a marriage alliance. Aside from living in the same building, there’s absolutely nothing going on between us.” Rosalie said.

The smile on Ursula froze at once before getting replaced by a look of deep disappointment. She poked

at Rosalie’s forehead with force.

“Rosalie, you’re just hopeless!”

That night, Rosalie stayed in Ursula’s place. She returned to her apartment the next afternoon, intending to pack up some fresh clothes and documents.

She had just opened her luggage when someone knocked on the door. When she opened it, she was surprised to find Julian outside.

He stood against the light, his broad shoulders and long legs casting a shadow that nearly engulfed her.

Lowering his head, he looked at her.

“I’m here to return the food container.” Julian handed it to Rosalie and added, “The food is delicious, but

it needs more salt.”

It tasted too light for him.

Rosalie froze for a second. She couldn’t help but grumble internally, thinking to herself that Julian really

needed to learn some manners.

“Want to come inside?” she asked politely.

She thought he would reject her offer. To her surprise, he agreed to it without hesitation.

“Sure.”

Then, Julian stepped inside. His tall frame carried a scent of soapberry, immediately making the living

room much smaller than it actually was.

Rosalie was at a loss for words.

Julian glanced at the open luggage on the floor, and his eyebrows slowly furrowed.

“Are you moving away?”

“That’s not it.” Rosalie put the food container into the kitchen sink. “I have a thesis presentation tomorrow. So, I need to go back to campus.”

Julian casually picked up the thesis on the table. He leafed through it before glancing at the cover. His tone was nonchalant as he spoke.

“Your college doesn’t deserve your thesis at all.”

Rosalie felt a little embarrassed. She grinned and said, “I didn’t know any better when I chose a college. So, I picked one randomly.”

Then, she reached out, took the thesis from Julian, and stuffed it into her luggage.

Julian noticed the thick reference books on the table and raised an eyebrow. “Are you going to a grad

school?”

“Yeah.” Rosalie nodded. “I’m gonna try getting into Claver University.”

Julian gave a soft snort. She couldn’t tell if he was amazed or just surprised.

“You think you’re qualified for Claver University when you come from a second-tier college? Well, I guess it’s good to have a goal.”

Rosalie was at a loss for words.

Once she was done packing, she intended to call a cab to take her to the airport. Before she could pull up the cab application on her screen, she saw Julian jiggling the car key and stopped what she was doing.

“I just so happen to have some time. I’ll drive you there.”

Rosalie froze for a second. Still, she didn’t make a fuss and handed him her luggage. He curled his lips and took it with one hand, his forearm muscles flexed in powerful lines.

As the car cruised on the street, she couldn’t help but turn sideways to look at Julian. He had some defining features and a strong jawline. One look at him, and he would live rent-free in people’s minds.

“You know what? With your extraordinary looks, you don’t have to work as a firefighter. If you’d have joined the entertainment industry, you’d surely have become insanely popular.”

Julian’s fingers twitched slightly. “What? Are you looking down on firefighters?”

“Not at all!” Rosalie frantically waved and said solemnly, “I think firefighters are super cool!

“They fight fires and save people, always putting their lives on the line. Whenever I see them on the news, I get all starry-eyed.”

At this point, Rosalie added, “Plus, they look absolutely incredible in their uniforms!”

Hearing that, Julian curled his lips.

“Spend more time watching the real-life heroes than ogling over the flashy, pretty boys. It’s better for your

overall well-being, too.”

“Sir, yes, sir!”

Rosalie grinned, boldly admitting that looks and heroism were incredibly important to her.

When they arrived at the airport’s parking lot, Julian swiftly stepped out of the car to take her luggage out of the trunk and put it on the floor.

At that moment, a black Maybach drove over and slowly pulled over next to their car. Just one look, and

Rosalie knew it was Lucian’s car.

She instinctively threw herself into Julian’s arms, acting like a couple reluctant to part.

Leaning in real close, Rosalie said, “Sorry. I need a little favor.”
