Chapter 29 Rosalie Actually Bit Him

1/2

Chapter 29 Rosalie Actually Bit Him

In her past life, Rosalie heard about the enigmatic scion of the Yarwood family. He was ruthless and vicious, and he made decisions on collaborations however he saw fit.

Still, she had never seen him in person.

As Rosalie did her best to get a better look at the door, a hand shot out and grabbed her wrist, yanking her out of the crowd before she could react.

She turned around and found herself under Lucian’s angry glare.

He dragged her into an empty private lounge, not giving her a chance to speak. Lowering his head, he stared at her, his eyes brimming with malice.

“Rosalie, where is your respect for me? You know that my family is at odds with the Yarwood family, and yet you wanted to have a collaboration with Vista Furnishings, which is owned by them.

“Are you doing this on purpose?”

“Lucian, let me go.”

Rosalie frowned in disdain. She tried to push him away, but she wasn’t strong enough to do it.

Glaring at him icily, she said, “Aren’t you worried that Camelia might see us and misread the situation?”

“Camelia is not as narrow-minded as you are. In fact, she told me to look for you. She’s worried about you and wants me to make things clear with you.

“She said that she’ll always think of you as her closest friend, regardless of how you treat her.

“Rosalie, why can’t you be as forgiving and kind as Camelia is?”

“Closest friend?”

Rosalie burst out laughing as if she had just heard the funniest joke in her life.

“She played me like a fool. Sorry, but I don’t need a friend like her in my life. She might get me killed

someday.”

“Why, you!”

Lucian’s chest rose and fell rapidly. Evidently, he was infuriated.

“You know very clearly that Vertex Tech will last two months at most before it has to shut down for good!

In fact, some of the top executives might even go bankrupt due to financial issues!

“You know it’s a lost cause. So, why did you insist on putting yourself on the line?”

Lucian fixed his gaze on Rosalie.

Chapter 29 Rosalie Actually Bit Him

2/2

“I saved you the role of assistant director in the technical department, and I want you to report to work

next Monday.”

The sarcasm in Rosalie’s eyes deepened.

“Thanks, but I’ll pass, Mr. Fenwick. I don’t need your help.”

She tried pushing him away again, but he just wouldn’t budge. Then, she made a snap decision, lowered

her head, and bit his arm.

Lucian winced in pain and instinctively loosened his grip on Rosalie. She seized the opportunity and broke

free before fleeing out of the private lounge.

He remained standing, looking at the teeth marks on his arm in disbelief. Did she seriously just bite him?

Meanwhile, Rosalie ran so fast that she didn’t see where she was going. She had just gone out the door

when she slammed into someone’s firm chest.

“Ouch!”

She lost her footing and was about to fall to the floor.

Before Rosalie knew what was happening, she was held by the waist and pulled into someone’s arms.

The party hall became so quiet that she could’ve heard a pin drop. She also heard someone gasping quietly.

Rosalie raised her head in fear, but she found herself looking at features that she was all too familiar with.

There was something different about them, though.

The stunning, cold face was framed by gold-rimmed glasses, and the deep-set eyes behind them were so

piercing that it looked like they could strike fear into hearts. The man wore a perfectly tailored suit as well.

Instead of the familiar soapberry scent, Rosalie caught a whiff of cedar and faint tobacco. It was a scent

that she had never smelled before.

The man was refined, distant, and extremely intimidating.

Rosalie immediately decided that the man holding her couldn’t have been Julian at all. She hurriedly pulled herself away from him and spoke awkwardly.

“I’m sorry, mister. I didn’t mean for it to happen.” The man said, lowering his gaze to look at her.

His voice was low, hoarse, and charming, but it was much deeper than Julian’s.

“Watch where you’re going. Don’t run around throwing yourself into men’s arms.” Rosalie was at a loss for words.
