Once the room fell quiet, Joaquin fixed his gaze on Romina. 

She had barely spoken the entire time, focusing solely on treating Hayden with extremely professional technique. 

The man leaned against the wall, quietly watching the scene. Apart from indifference, there was no oth- er expression on his face. 

After Hayden’s condition eased, Romina crouched down and asked softly, “Grandpa, how are you feel- ing now? Is your breathing a bit easier?” 

Hayden was much thinner than before, his cheeks noticeably sunken. 

He managed a faint smile: “Much better…” 

“Good, then get some rest.‘ 

Romina removed the needles from Hayden’s back one by one, then looked toward Lenora: “His condi- tion has stabilized. Next, he needs to recuperate properly. Give him more foods that promote blood cir- culation and remove stasis. I’ll make a list for you later, just have the auntie make soup for him.” 

Lenora nodded quickly, her gaze at Romina now tinged with a complexity that hadn’t been there before: “Alright.” 

Joaquin looked toward the butler: “Change Grandpa’s bedding.” 

“Yes, Mr. Joaquin.” 

Romina picked up the medical kit and walked toward the door. As she passed Joaquin, she nodded at him without saying a word. 

When she reached the corridor, Jericho and the others were nowhere to be seen. 

At that moment, a voice called from behind: “Ms. Sandoval.” 

Romina paused for a moment when she heard the sound. 

She quickly turned around and met the man’s captivating phoenix eyes.

“Don’t you need to stay for the night watch today?”

Romina gave a faint smile and then turned to go downstairs. 

Nadine and the medical doctor had already left; only Jericho remained in the living room on the first floor, seemingly on the phone. 

Romina stood by the second–floor railing, glanced down briefly, then turned and entered the room she shared with Jericho to take a hot shower.
