Josie gasped in fright, but before she could do anything, a sudden sharp pain shot through the back of her neck, and everything went dark.

The next thing she knew, she was lying in some rundown, abandoned warehouse.

She tried to move, only to find her arms and legs were tied wide apart, her body sprawled out on an old, filthy mattress.

She turned her head and saw five men not far away.

The five men were sitting around a square table, eating and drinking, not noticing at all that she was

awake.

Josie’s head was buzzing. She wondered why these people would kidnap her.

If it was for money, they would’ve just grabbed her stuff and run. If they were after her looks, they wouldn’t have left her here, tied up and ignored.

Besides, she felt that she wasn’t pretty, and her figure was nothing to write home about.

After thinking it over, Josie could only think that this was for revenge.

The only person Josie had ever truly offended was Natalie. Recently, she’d embarrassed Natalie so badly that even David’s whole team had to apologize to her.

With what Josie knew about Natalie, there was no way she would just take that humiliation.

After all, Natalie had managed to ruin Zoey’s life just because Zoey accidentally called out Aiden’s name.

Now that Josie had embarrassed her, Natalie would surely do even worse things to Josie.

Suddenly, Josie thought, ‘In my previous life, five men went after Zoey. Now, there are also five here. Could they be the same people?‘

The realization sent a chill down Josie’s spine. Her face turned as white as a sheet, and her heart thudded uncontrollably in her chest. She wondered what she should do.

She thought, ‘Am I supposed to just lie here and watch them to come to me once they are done eating?

‘I don’t even dare imagine what Zoey went through that night in my previous life, but I absolutely don’t want to go through the same nightmare myself.’

She tried to move her hands and feet quietly. Although the ropes weren’t tied tightly, they were still nowhere close enough for her to reach with her teeth.

Saving herself was basically impossible.

Josie braced herself and called out, “Hey, I need to use the bathroom!”

The guys at the table heard her and glanced at each other. Then one of them, who had a mustache, got up

and walked over.

“You’re such a pain in the ass!” the mustached man snapped, cursing as he bent down to untie her ropes, giving her a once–over as he did.

He said, “Hey, boss, come check this out. This chick’s a bit skinny, but she’s actually pretty cute.

“She’s got guts. She is not crying, not freaking out, and even trying to boss me around!”

The mustached man grabbed Josie off the mattress and leaned in before staring her down.

Josie caught a heavy whiff of cigarettes and sweat coming from him.

Even though the weather had turned chilly, he still reeked of sweat.

‘How long has it been since this guy last took a shower?‘ Josie thought.

Instead of being scared, Josie actually recoiled in disgust. The mustached man scowled and jerked the rope, dragging her back toward him.

“You think you can turn your nose up at me? Fine, I will be the first to deal with you later,” he sneered.

A burly man called out after turning his head, “Quit yapping with her and take her to the back. Get her cleaned up so she can serve us later.”

The mustached man didn’t dare stall any longer. He yanked Josie along, grumbling curses as he dragged her toward the back of the warehouse.

The back of the warehouse was pitch black, cluttered with piles of junk.

While the mustached man wasn’t paying attention, Josie slipped her hand into her inner pocket.

Inside her down jacket’s inner pocket was a small packet of silver needles. Delilah had gifted these to her in the afternoon to congratulate her on passing the first stage of her training.

She felt that maybe these guys were just too cocky. They hadn’t even bothered to search her pockets.

Josie let out a silent sigh of relief and secretly gripped two silver needles in her hand.

When they got to the bathroom, the mustached man pushed the door open and shoved her inside. “Hurry up. Don’t make me wait for too long.”

Josie went in and pulled the door shut.

The ropes on her wrists and ankles were still outside, so the door couldn’t close all the way.
