While Harriet was waiting at the door for Reginald to bring the 

car around, Kelsey’s bright voice suddenly called out from 

behind her. 

Harriet turned to look and saw Kelsey and Ellsworth walking 

toward the entrance together. 

Seeing the two of them, Harriet remained calm and greeted 

them lightly: “Kelsey.” 

She called her Kelsey because they’d known each other since

bedroom.

too?”

knew she should attend to these formalities.

getting late. I’ll go rest now. You should get some rest too.”

bedroom first.

The car drove on, while Harriet rested her cheek on her hand, gazing out the window, her mood calm and indifferent. 

Occasionally, Ellsworth glanced at her in the rearview mirror. Seeing her so silent and unruffled, he recalled many things from the past, including the way she quietly played chess.
