Chapter 9
I stood over him, my words cutting deep. “Xavier, do you remember when your company was about to go bankrupt, and my father begged everyone he knew to help you? And when he was dying, waiting for money for a kidney transplant, you were too busy ‘helping Hanna pick out a new estate’ to even answer his call. How ironic. The day my father died with his
eyes wide open, unable to afford the surgery, you were at the pack mall with Hanna, swiping your card for a ten-million-dollar estate without blinking.”
Tears streamed down my face as I spoke, my hands trembling, “I was such a fool, pouring my heart into this family, into your Alpha status, only to watch you succeed while I lost everything.”
I raised my hand and slapped him one last time, my voice firm. “Leaving with nothing is the last bit of dignity I’m giving
you. From today, you’re no longer the Alpha of Blackthorn, and you’re no longer my mate.”
Every word was a knife, cutting into Xavier’s heart.
He hung his head, his hair hiding the darkness in his eyes. But Hanna, furious, rushed forward, pointing at me and Soren.
“You talk a big game! I bet you’ve been cheating with this guy all along, and now you’re trying to dump Xavier and run off
with him! You-”
Before she could finish, I slapped her. “Who gave you the right to speak? You think you’re the Luna of Blackthorn now, daring to strut around in front of me?”
Hanna burst into tears, and Xavier immediately shielded her, his eyes darting between me and Soren. “You’re so eager to
dissolve the bond-are you guilty of what she’s accusing you of?”
Suddenly, a young Omega girl walked up to Soren, naturally linking arms with him, and raised an eyebrow at Xavier. “I’m Soren’s mate. He’s marking me next month! You two, breaking pack ethics, have no right to slander Soren and Rosalie’s friendship. You’ve disgraced the Blackthorn Pack!”
Xavier’s face turned pale-even his last excuse for slander was shattered. He finally panicked, his voice softening. “Rosalie, I was wrong. Give me another chance…”
I raised my hand and slapped him again, my voice cold as ice. “Get out!”
Hanna screamed and lunged at me, trying to claw my face, but I slapped her even harder. “You too, get out!”
Before leaving, I pointed at Xavier’s nose and said, “Remember this: leaving with nothing is the last bit of dignity I’m giving you. If you force me to take this to the pack enforcers, you’ll lose even more.”
Hanna, clutching her swollen cheek, glared at me. “You’re dreaming! If anyone’s leaving, it’s you! The Luna position of
Blackthorn will be mine soon enough!”
I laughed coldly and walked away without looking back.
After the media coverage that night, the Blackthorn Pack’s reputation plummeted.
His parents called to disown him, refusing to acknowledge such a disgraceful son.
Xavier nearly smashed his phone-his mother had been sick for three years, and I had been the one taking care of her day and night; his father had gotten into a fight with a rival pack, and I had stepped in to take the fatal blow for him.
Humiliated in front of his family, he could only hide in his office, smashing things in frustration. That’s when I showed up again, with the Mate Bond Dissolution Agreement and a stock transfer document, throwing them on his desk.
I said, “Sign them.”
