Enzo has been gone for three days. He’s been calling Cora and asking about my welfare, but he never asks to speak with me.” Like right now–he’s talking to Cora on the phone, but he didn’t ask to speak with me. I don’t know why, but I’m missing him.”
*…I’ll pass on the message,” Cora said and hung up.
I rolled my eyes when Cora said that, because I already knew what she was going to say.
She approached me with a smile.
“Mr. Enzo said you shouldn’t forget to eat and sleep on time.”
“When is he coming back?” I asked.
“He didn’t say. He only asked me to remind you to eat and sleep on time.“}
I scoffed. “Sure!”
She chuckled at my response. “Are you missing him?”
“No, I answered quickly, obviously lying.
“I’m only a maid here, and I don’t want to overstep my boundaries, but I think you and Mr. Enzo should sit down and talk. You’re both being childish with the way you’re handling this,” she said.
I shook my head. “I’m not the childish one here–your boss is. Why did he leave home when he could just explain everything to me?“}
I knew my words were harsh, but he could have still explained and defended himself.
“Mrs. Enzo, you don’t–“>
“Did he think leaving home would change my impression of him?” I scoffed. “It doesn’t work that way. Communication is the strength of every successful relationship.“&
Wait–I wanted to leave. Isn’t this the perfect time to leave? Why am I angry that he left home instead??
No! Don’t tell me I’m falling in love with him! I haven’t known him for long–why am I falling for him?
*Get dressed. I’ll take you somewhere, and your impression of him might change,” Cora said.
“I don’t wanna.“[
“Please, ma’am. It’s necessary I take you there.”
I narrowed my eyes, wondering why she said it was necessary to take me there.>>
“Mr. Enzo isn’t a bad man. He just doesn’t know how to explain things to you.”
Any more refusal from me might make me look stubborn and unreasonable, so I agreed.}
“I’ll go freshen up,” I said, then headed to my room.2
Just a few steps away from my room, my phone rang. I checked the caller ID and saw it was Kayla–my best friend.”
“Hey, Kayla,” I said into the phone.
She scoffed from the other side. “At least you remember my name!” she snapped, making me move the phone from my ear a bit.
“I’m sorry I didn’t reach out to you these past days. My life has been a huge drama lately. I sighed tiredly.
“Yeah, I heard you’ve finally divorced Fred. I’m so happy for you, Genevieve!
Although I can’t see her, I can tell she’s very excited.”
“I have good news. Do you want to guess?” she asked.
I rolled my eyes. “You know I’m not good at guessing. Just tell me and save us unnecessary stress.”
She laughed.
“We passed the audition!” she screamed.”
*Really?!” I couldn’t stop myself from screaming too.
Kayla and I had secretly gone for a modeling audition two months ago.
I didn’t want to participate, but Kayla insisted, telling me that I should get a life for myself and shouldn’t live just for Fred and his son.”
“Is everything okay, Mrs. Enzo?” Cora asked from downstairs–she must have heard me scream.
“I’m good,” I replied as I dashed into my room and shut the door behind me.
“Mrs. Enzo? You’re Mrs. Enzo? Since when? Why didn’t I know about this?” Kayla bombarded me with questions.!!
I released a groan as I fell on my bed.
“It’s a long story. Let’s meet up at F2 tomorrow, and I’ll tell you everything,” I said.
“Okay. You better…” she trailed off.”
I waited for her to speak, but she didn’t. I checked my phone and realized the call had ended. I guess she ran out of call credit. I wanted to call her back but decided against it, since it would only delay me.!!

Two hours! Cora and I were on the road for two long hours before we finally drove through a large gate.
The Redeemed Children’s Home?” I read out the words scripted on the top of the gate. “Where is this place?**
10:07 AM
“An orphanage,” Cora answered.
“What are we doing at an orphanage? Are you visiting someone?” I asked.
Cora didn’t respond; she simply smiled and looked ahead of her.
I leaned back in my seat and shut my eyes. After a few minutes, she tapped my shoulder.“]
“We’re here,” she said.
We both alighted from the car. I frowned as I stared at the huge mansion in front of us. It was almost bigger than Enzo’s mansion.
“Is this part of the orphanage?” I whispered to Cora, scared of offending anyone who might be listening.”
“Yes. The kids live here,” she replied.
“Wow! I’ve never seen an orphanage home as big as this.” I couldn’t hide my surprise. “Is it government–owned?“}} “No, ma’am.”
“Whoever built it must have a big and kind heart,” I said.

The owner of this orphanage is living my dream. It’s accommodate and provide homeless children with a home.“]
“Ms. Cora!” a middle–aged woman greeted Cora with a warm smile.
“Mrs. Peter!” Cora and the woman, Mrs. Peter, engaged in a brief hug.}]
“You finally visited us again,” Mrs. Peter said. “And who might this beautiful lady be?” she faced me, her smile not leaving her face. “Oh, this is Mrs. Enzo,” Cora introduced me.
“Mrs. Enzo? You mean Mr. Enzo’s wife?”
“Yes,” Cora answered.
“Oh my goodness!” she pulled me into a tight hug. “You’re so beautiful, my dear.”
“Thank you,” I replied with a shy smile.
“Now I know why Mr. Enzo wouldn’t stop talking about you these days,” she said.
My smile faltered a bit. “Enzo is here?“}
“Yes,” she answered.}
“What is he doing here?“>
“Huh? I don’t think he needs a reason to be here. He owns the orphanage, after all.”
My eyes buiged at Mrs. Peter’s words. “HUH?!”
