The police arrived quickly. A crowd gathered.
“Who called?” an officer asked.
I stepped forward and told him everything.
As the officer headed towards the building, Stella came out.
“Officer! This woman was causing a disturbance. She was kicked out, and now she’s filing a false report! You should arrest her!”
Rage boiled inside me. I lunged at her.
But an officer held me back.
“Ma’am, calm down! What’s going on here?”
I glared at Stella, my whole body shaking.
“She’s not an employee! She’s my classmate! I brought her for a tour, and she took over and kicked
me out!”
Stella smirked.
“Not an employee? Then why did everyone obey me?”
“Officer, here’s my access card. It’s for core personnel only. I think that’s proof enough, don’t you?”
Our classmates came out, whispering.
“It’s Evelyn again? Can’t she take a hint?”
“Such a troublemaker.”
“Stella is awesome! She showed us the CEO’s office! We even saw her picture on the desk!”
The officer took the card. After a quick radio check, he turned to me.
“The card checks out, miss. Filing a false police report could mean jail.”

“Keep lying, and you’re going to jail!”
The crowd snickered.
My classmates were filming me with their phones. “Someone post this psycho to the campus confessions page!”
“She’s a total nutcase! Just leave Stella alone!”
Outnumbered, I played my last card.
I pulled out my driver’s license.
“My name is Evelyn Kael. Frank Kael, the CEO of Kael Corporation, is my father. Check your system.”
Silence. Then, the murmurs started.
“Wait… Kael Corporation? Evelyn Kael?”
“Stella’s last name is Caspian! It doesn’t add up!”

The officer checked his device.
“It’s confirmed. Frank Kael is your father.”
A collective gasp went through the crowd.
I pointed at Stella. “See? I’m the heiress! She’s the fraud!”
