I screamed for security. When they finally arrived, they used a master key to open the door.
The guards moved to grab Stella, but she stood her ground.
“Touch me, and you’re defying Mr. Kael!”
“I have access to his office! You figure out who I am!”
The guards hesitated, intimidated.
I scoffed.
“That card is mine! Stop with the act!”
Calmly, Stella pulled another photo frame from her purse–a fake picture of her standing next to my
dad–and placed it on the desk.
“Mr. Kael asked me to look after his daughter while he was away, and this is the tantrum she
throws? Security, get her out of here.”
To my horror, the guards turned to me. “Our apologies, Miss Kael. We won’t lay a hand on you, but please, you have to leave.”
I was shaking with rage. How dare she?
That photo is a fake!
“Stella, are you insane? My dad is in a secure overseas summit! When he gets back, he’ll have you
arrested!”
Stella picked up a mouse from the desk and hurled it at my head.
“GET HER OUT!”
“You have ten seconds, or you’re all fired!”
Blood trickled down my forehead.
This time, the guards did grab me.

“Sorry, Miss Kael. We have to follow the orders of whoever holds the access card. It’s protocol.”
They dragged me to the elevators. Stella followed us out.
SMACK!
She slapped me again, right in front of everyone.
“You think you get to use the elevator? No card, no ride! Take the stairs!”
My arms were pinned. I glared at her.
“Stella. Are you sure you want to do this?”
She sneered, grabbing my chin.
“Oh, honey. We’re just getting started.”
Over fifty flights of stairs. It took me almost half an hour.
Exhausted, I finally made it to the lobby… and saw a group of our classmates waving.
I weakly waved back, but Stella’s voice cut through the air.
“Everyone! Over here! Welcome to my company!”
She swept past me as our classmates stared in awe.
“Stella! This place is yours? That’s amazing!”
“I had no idea you were this loaded! I’m definitely staying on your good side!”
Then, someone spotted me.
“Evelyn? What are you doing here?”
Before I could answer, Stella cut in.
“Ha! I caught her trying to steal from us!”
“See? Security’s got her. She’s on her way to the police station!”
Seeing the Guards holding me, my classmates sneered.

“One’s a CEO’s daughter, and the other’s a thief? How pathetic.”
“Stella, I’m so jealous of you!”
Furious, I tried to explain.
But Stella just nodded at the guards. They clamped a hand over my mouth and dragged me outside. “Orders, Miss Kael. Can’t let you back in.”
“If you try to force your way, we’ll have to call the cops.”
Through the glass, I met Stella’s triumphant gaze. “Fine,” I mouthed. “Call them.”
