Chapter 100
Fiona’s face was pale and the wedding dress she wore was already in disarray. Her makeup was smudged, but it couldn’t hide the tears on her face.
When she saw the three of them pushing the door open, she immediately choked up.“Simon, Ethan,Jason, were you taken away by Callista?Did she do something? I just wanted a wedding…is that really so hard?I’m about to die–why does she still have to take you away?”
Her cries were sharp, filled with heart–wrenching anguish.”
The three of them stood by the bedside, each with a different expression.”
Jason’s eyes were dark with gloom, his chest heavy with an unspoken frustration.
He forced down the agitation in his heart and reached out to pat Fiona’s shoulder. “We can have the wedding…next time.Fiona, focus on resting and recovering–treatment is the most important thing right now.“%
Simon and Ethan remained expressionless. Seeing her tear–streaked face, their minds drifted to a figure slowly walking away.
I used to be lonely too, tears in my eyes, yet I swallowed them down without asking for anyone’s comfort.”
But they never had the chance to care. Now,the one they wanted to care for was already gone.
Fiona leaned partly against the hospital bed, tears still clinging to the corners of her eyes, her expression pitiful,as if she had endured endless grievances.\
Her voice was soft, yet it pierced the hearts of those few like needles.“Actually…ever since I was little,Callista never really liked me.”
She lowered her gaze, crystalline tears hanging on her eyelashes.
“She always felt like I was taking her things–whether it was clothes, toys,or…later, people.”
She paused for a moment,as if afraid of saying too much and secretly glanced at the men,her eyes full of fear and timidity.
“I never complained, because I didn’t want to ruin the family harmony. But she always wore a cold expression and sometimes she would lock me in a room, not letting me out… I was so afraid of the dark back then and I didn’t dare to scream,so I just endured it.“\
Her voice grew quieter,as if afraid of touching some forbidden subject, trembling slightly. “Later, even at school, she always kept an eye on me. Whenever a friend got close to me,she…she would find a way to push them away.I knew she was my sister and I shouldn’t argue with her,so I endured it. But sometimes…sometimes I really couldn’t help feeling wronged.”
By the end,Fiona was sobbing uncontrollably, her fingers gripping the bedsheet tightly, her body trembling slightly.”
The sight was pitiful and fragile, like a delicate flower that had been suppressed in the shadows all these years.
The hospital room fell silent in an instant.
Simon’s brows knitted tightly, his expression heavy with concern.
He recalled some vague memories–perhaps at times his gaze had indeed been too cold and distant, while Fiona had always been obedient and gentle.”
Ethan lowered his eyes, the urgency in his heart slowly being suppressed.
They were beginning to waver.[
Indeed, the past three years of living together had almost made them forget how I,taking advantage of being the true daughter of the Corvin Family, had wantonly bullied Fiona.
All they had wanted was for the family to live together peacefully–but my arrival had ruined everything.
Jason’s face was stern;he said nothing.”
Every word Fiona spoke felt like it was stitched directly into his heart, yet he couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.
After all,I had been his wife, living closely with him for three years–he always believed I wasn’t the type to take out my emotions by“bullying others.“W
And yet he said nothing.
Just as the atmosphere froze, the assistant rushed in,flustered.
“Mr. Whitlock,something terrible has happened–the plane crashed!“N
