Chapter 19. 

Latoya’s eyes were red–rimmed, like a wounded puppy. 

“C–bear, my ankle hurts…” 

Rosalind moved to step around Christopher. 

His hand shot out, clamping onto her wrist. 

He yanked her back against him, his voice tight. “Where do you think you’re going this late?” 

“None of your business. Tend to your mistress.” 

“I thought we agreed to drop this?” Christopher pulled out his phone. 

“Who are you calling?” Rosalind asked. 

“Building management. To have Latoya escorted out.” 

Rosalind wrenched her arm free with all her strength.“Let go of me!” 

“I didn’t leave you when you gave yourself to someone else first! You’re not leaving now!” 

Christopher bent, hoisting Rosalind over his shoulder, and carried her back into the master bedroom. 

Rosalind kicked and struggled wildly. “Christopher, are you insane? Put me down!” 

“Insane?” He dumped her onto the soft bed, his weight pinning her instantly. He gripped her chin, crushing his mouth against hers. The word hissed between them.“Baby.” 

“Hiss…” 

Christopher suddenly jerked back, sucking in a sharp breath. 

He touched his tongue. His fingertips came away stained crimson. 

“You bit me?” 

Rosalind gasped for air, her voice icy.“Your lover is still watching!” 

Christopher cursed under his breath and strode towards the door. 

Latoya remained crumpled on the floor, dazed by the sudden violence. 

Yet, her instinctive dependence on Christopher surfaced when she saw him approach. Tears overflowed. 

“C–bear, it really hurts…” 

Bang! 

The master bedroom door crashed shut behind Christopher. 

The heavy thud seemed to vibrate the walls. 

The closed door severed Latoya’s view, but what was happening inside needed no explanation. 

Latoya wasn’t naive. Top salespeople never were.

She’d heard every word of Christopher and Rosalind’s argument. 

Christopher loved Rosalind. It was undeniable. He’d simply been nursing a festering wound because she hadn’t given him her virginity. 

The imbalance tormented him. It fed a deep sense of injustice and a raw, persistent anguish. 

So he’d chosen her, Latoya, as his tool for revenge. 

From start to finish, his kindness, his indulgence had all been an act, a grand performance staged to soothe his own bruised ego. 

A cold, bitter laugh escaped Latoya. She pushed herself up slowly, leaning against the wall. 

He’d brought this on himself. 

Inside the master bedroom, intimacy became a battleground. 

Rosalind fought with desperate strength. Christopher, abandoning his usual tenderness, met her with ruthless force, refusing to yield. 

When her hands pushed against him, he pinned her wrists above her head, immobilizing her. 

When her leg kicked out, he trapped it, pressing it aside. 

Frustrated tears streamed down Rosalind’s face as she hurled curses. “Christopher! Marital rape is rape! I’ll report you!” 

“Go ahead! Eugene’s a lawyer! You win that case, damn it, I’ll take your name!” 

“Get… Get off me!” 

Rosalind finally spotted a chance. She drove her knee upward with all her strength, finding its target. 

The color drained from Christopher’s face, contorted in agony. He still held her wrists, preventing escape, but th assault stopped. 

Exhausted by the brutal struggle, Rosalind had no strength left to fight. 

Her wrists remained pinned. She could only turn her face away, refusing to look at him. 

After a moment, Christopher rolled off her. He pulled her close, his arm possessive around her waist.“Don’t be angry. I was wrong. Let’s just be together.”
