After Ruby’s beating, the bodyguards dumped her outside the basement without mercy. 

Her whole body was covered in horrific wounds, every movement sending searing pain through her. 

Declan didn’t give her a cent or any medical treatment–leaving her to survive or die seemed to be his final punishment. 

She dragged her broken body around, hiding everywhere. Her former school had expelled her long ago, and her story had spread across the internet. No decent school would take her. 

Eventually, she could only transfer to a terrible vocational school. 

But her past deeds, along with clear photos of her, quickly spread quietly through this new school too. 

“Look, that’s her! The one who framed someone else and faked jumping in a lake!” 

“What a toxic heart, right? Looks all sweet and innocent…” 

“Stay away from her–disgusting!” 

She’d sit in the cafeteria corner eating, and people would throw leftover bones into her tray. Walking down the street, people would deliberately bump into her and throw dirty tissues at her. Her textbooks constantly went missing, and her desk was covered with “poisonous bitch” and “liar.” 

Nobody wanted to get close to her or talk to her. Everywhere she went, people avoided her like the plague. 

Ruby became increasingly withdrawn, her eyes vacant and dull, often talking to thin air, sometimes giggling, sometimes crying. 

Campus bullying wore down her already fragile psyche day after day. 

This particular noon, she sat alone curled up in the cafeteria corner, mechanically picking at her food. 

Just then, the cafeteria TV was playing international news. 

Suddenly, a familiar name and confident face appeared on screen. 

It was Nina. 

The news reported that Nina’s research team had won a major international award. In the footage, she wore 

a sharp suit, standing under spotlights with a bright, confident smile.

The report even mentioned her boyfriend Oliver, showing a warm photo of them smiling at each other, calling them “academia’s golden couple.” 

Nina’s brilliant success contrasted sharply with Ruby’s current wretched state. 

“AHHH!!” 

Ruby’s pupils contracted as she stared at Nina’s happy face on screen. All her suppressed despair and frustration exploded like a volcano. 

She violently overturned the table in front of her, sending cold food flying everywhere. 

“WHY?! Why does SHE get to have everything so good?! I’M the one who should have it all! ME!” 

She suddenly went crazy, screaming and throwing everything around her in all directions. 

Students in the cafeteria screamed in terror and fled. 

Soon, sirens wailed. 

When police arrived, Ruby was huddled in the corner with vacant eyes, completely mentally broken. 

When police took her for questioning, she rambled incoherently about “Declan loves me” and “Nina deserves to die.” 

Then she’d curl up in terror, screaming: “Don’t hit me!” 

When a female officer tried to treat her obvious bruises, Ruby fearfully blurted out: “It was… it was Declan who had me beaten… he made them hit me ninety–nine times…” 

The police immediately became serious and went to Declan’s residence. 

Declan was drowning in massive grief when police showed up. He was startled at first, then actually let out something like a bitter laugh. 

“Yeah, I did it.” His eyes were empty, offering no defense. 

His frank admission surprised even the police. 

But just as they were about to handcuff him, Declan’s tears poured out. 

“Nina, I really lost you…” 

Eventually, Declan was sent to prison while Ruby was committed to a mental hospital. 

A drama that began with deception and obsession ended with everyone’s destruction.
