After her head bobbed from side to side a couple of times, she simply leaned back in the seat and fell asleep. 

Beside her, Ellsworth glanced at Harriet and, seeing she was asleep, raised his hand to adjust the air conditioning, turning up the temperature a bit, and then draped his jacket over her. 

The car remained quiet. Occasionally, as he looked at the sleeping Harriet beside him, it felt as if they had returned to the 

past. 

It wasn’t until after one in the morning that the car stopped in 

front of the villa. Seeing that Harriet was still asleep, Ellsworth 

got out first, then gently carried her upstairs and let her sleep 

just like that.

The next morning, when Harriet woke up, she found her alarm 

had been turned off.

Harriet answered the call, greeting him with a smile, “Mr. 

Burton.” 

On the other end, Johnathan said, “Hara, I heard you sold your 

patent and got promoted to project leader. Congratulations!” 

With both hands on the steering wheel, Harriet smiled and said, 

“I signed the contract with Mr. Barton yesterday. Thank you for 

your congratulations, Mr. Burton.” 

Johnathan said, “It’s good to have a fresh start at work, but 

don’t just focus on work. Make time to get together with 

everyone.” 

Harriet said, “Sure.” 

After chatting with Johnathan for a bit and hanging up, Darrick 

called as well, also to congratulate her. 

After that, she received several more calls in a row, all offering 

their congratulations. 

With everyone calling one after another, Harriet felt much

Ellsworth a message: “I’m treating everyone to dinner tonight. 

Do you have time?” 

Ellsworth quickly replied, “Yes.” 

Seeing his reply, Harriet sent him the hotel address, inviting him 

to join.

parents.”
