Jaden chuckled.

“What’s the big deal? I’ve got it covered. I’ll go find it for you tomorrow, though I can’t promise I’ll have it. You know I’m not the best at keeping things organized.”
Vincent felt a chill run down his spine.
Within the team. Jaden had never really liked him. At first, it was because Josie had brought him in, but later, when Vincent’s knowledge and abilities started to rival Gavin’s, Jaden’s attitude improved a bit.
Now that Josie was gone, and Vincent had been publicly humiliated, he couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Is Jaden trying to make things difficult for me? After all, wasn’t it Jaden who once pursued Josie when she first joined the team?‘
Even though Jaden said he didn’t care about her anymore, Vincent couldn’t help but feel uneasy. ‘Would Jaden use this situation to take a jab at me?‘
A cold sweat broke out on Vincent’s back, and he was sobered up almost immediately.
“Well… please try to find it, Jaden. It’s really important for me to get into grad school. You know how crucial this is for me.”
“Actually…” Jaden pulled his arm off Vincent’s shoulder, turned to look at him, “The materials I gave you… I’m not sure they’ll be much help. They’re from last year’s grad exam prep.
“As far as I know, the grad exam at Aloville Medical School changes every year. Instead of relying on my old materials, you’d be better off asking Natalie to help you organize a fresh set.
“She’s been getting a lot of attention from the professor lately, and she came up with the idea for the medical innovation project. Clearly, she’s sharper than Josie. Her materials should be at least as good as what Josie gave me.”
‘That’s it! How did I not think of that?‘
Vincent’s eyes lit up. “I’ll ask Natalie tomorrow. But since she just joined the team, I’m not sure it’s right to have her help me. Is that okay?”
“What’s wrong with that?” Jaden said, giving him an incredulous look. “You had Josie do everything for you. Why didn’t you think that was inappropriate back then?
“Besides, didn’t she join the team to do things like this? You think David recruited her just because she’s a girl? You think it was for her looks?”
That was something only Jaden would dare to say.
Although it was widely accepted within the team, it was still something no one should openly mention.
Vincent winced, but didn’t reply.
The group quietly went to bed, each lost in their own thoughts.
The next morning, Vincent didn’t hesitate for long before heading to find Natalie,
Natalie had already figured that this task would likely fall to her, since she was now the team’s intern assistant.
As the lowest–ranking member, she was basically expected to do all the menial work–organizing materials, assisting with experiments, cleaning the equipment, and so on.
Those were exactly the kinds of tasks that only someone like Josie would willingly do. Natalie wasn’t there to babysit anyone

–she came to join the top team for the experience and to build her resume.
But she couldn’t flat–out refuse the request, so she smiled and nodded. “Alright, I’ll take care of it. I’ll organize everything properly.”

Vincent didn’t expect her to agree so quickly, and he felt a wave of relief. “Thanks, Natalie. I’ll treat you to coffee sometime.”
After Vincent left, Natalie pouted. ‘Coffee? What a cheapskate.
She wasn’t planning to organize any materials herself.
Instead, she went straight to Jaden. She’d heard that Josie had helped him with grad exam prep materials before, so she decided to charm him a little. If she played her cards right, she was sure she could get what she needed.

One week after Leo’s funeral, Claire and Sean returned to school.
During that week, Josie hadn’t gone to the hospital. She spent her time in the dorm, self–studying, and occasionally attending a couple of elective courses.
Honestly, missing those classes wouldn’t hurt her much. After all, she already had a PhD in cytology from her previous life, and the content of these courses wasn’t anything new to her. Even if she didn’t attend, it wouldn’t affect her future exams.
The real challenge was the acupuncture course.
After a week of studying, she had accumulated a list of questions, just waiting for Claire and Sean to return so she could ask them.
Before she could even go looking for them, Claire and Sean were already waiting outside her dorm building.
