Harper subconsciously shrank her body. She was tortured by Sophia and Isabella, but at Walker family, Ethan bullied her a lot. Fear was natural.
“How is it? Are you feeling better?”
James answered instead of Harper. “I’m better. I still need more rest.”
The underlying meaning was to chase Ethan away. Mason could ignore James, but Ethan could not. To him, James was his immediate superior’s confidant. “Mr. Walker, Harper didn’t kill anyone.” James was on Harper’s side. “Whether someone died or not depended on the judge’s judgment, not his own guess.““James, I’m being nice to you because of Father. You really think you’re some- thing.”
James stepped forward and was about to retort when Harper pulled him from behind. His bones were still in intense pain, but he still agreed. “I’ll be there in the next two days.”
“Where are we going?”
Ethan answered James’s voice, “Go be Evelyn’s nanny and serve her. Who asked her to kill Olivia? It’s already good enough for her to be a nanny.”
Before he left, he gave Harper a warning look.
James’s refined face was filled with anger. He turned around and could not bear to say, “You clearly did not…“Harper shook his head and accepted his fate. “Forget it. No one will believe me.”
Before her injuries recovered, she was forcibly taken away. In name, she was supposed to serve Evelyn, but Evelyn was arranged by Mason to stay outside. Now, Ethan was in charge of her food, clothing, and living.

Ethan took the ashtray and poured it on Harper’s head as a way to avenge Olivia. “This place is clean. Go wash the carpet.”
“… Okay.“At Mason, Harper was in the cold laundry room. She was half–squatting on the ground with her knees touching the ground. She was holding a small brush and brushing the stains on the carpet. Her hands were red from the cold, and the wounds in the gauze were white from soaking.
She didn’t know where her anger came from.
“Was it fun?”

He barged into room Evelyn. Ethan was sitting on a chair beside the bed. He was laughing and talking when a dirty brush suddenly hit his face. He covered his face and stood up. “Who is it? Are you tired of living-”

Evelyn sat up as well. “… Mr. Brooks.”
“What are you doing?
