“Mr. Merritt, there’s no need to take it so much to heart.”
But Sandria wasn’t angry. Instead, she smiled as she spoke.
“What I said just now was true: you pay for the work you want done, and you offered far above the market rate. This money wasn’t easy to earn, so I was mentally prepared from the start. I agreed to it of my own accord.”
Antony was taken aback by her words.
Such frankness-he had never seen it in any other woman.
She really was a very special person.
Even putting aside personal feelings, Sandria was an excellent business partner.
“Good. With your words, I feel reassured.”
Antony smiled, then pushed a folder toward her.
“Sandy, you’re an outstanding partner. As it happens, I have a new project in development. If you’re interested, take a look.”
Sandria took the folder he handed her and began reading it carefully.
A few minutes later, Sandria’s eyes lit up with interest.
“You’re planning to develop a brand-new AI website? That does sound interesting.”
“Yes, I have a few friends who are skilled in network modeling. If you have time, we can meet them together.”
“Sure, I’m available anytime. Just let me know.”
“Perfect. I have a dinner with them tonight. Would you like to join us?”
“Alright.”
Sandria closed the project proposal and said, “Mr. Merritt, you seem quite certain that I’ll continue working with you?”
Even though his thoughts had been seen through, Antony showed no embarrassment.
“This is your area of expertise. Opportunities are for those who are prepared, and I believe you can handle it.”
Sandria could sense Antony’s appreciation.
Most people’s first impression of her was always her face and figure; they never truly acknowledged her abilities.

Antony had a good eye for people.
This gave her a sense of mutual understanding with him.
Sandria smiled. “Then I look forward to working with you, Mr. Merritt.”
Antony watched her lively expression, his eyes flickering slightly, and suddenly spoke.
“You seem to be quite close with Fulbert. Yesterday at the hospital, he was the one taking care of you. You two seem very familiar…”
Sandria raised an eyebrow.
It was true that his protection and care for her were rather unusual.
But she always felt that Fulbert had his own motives.
However, this was not something she needed to discuss with Antony.
She replied lightly, “He’s just being considerate because of our business partnership. He’s simply a bit more person- able in the business world, that’s all.”
Simple and straightforward.
Just business partners with Fulbert?
Antony raised an eyebrow. As a man, how could he not notice the possessiveness in Fulbert’s gaze?
But he didn’t call it out directly; instead, he just chuckled softly.
“Oh, all right. Then, Ms. Schroeder, shall we head over?”
The two of them went downstairs, but as soon as they reached the entrance, a tall figure blocked their way.
“What a coincidence, Sandy. Oh, and Mr. Merritt.”
With his hands in his pockets, Fulbert greeted them both with ease.
“Mr. Ortega, what are you doing here? I thought your company wasn’t in this building?”
Each floor of this building was leased by a different company.
Fulbert grinned and said, “I just finished a business deal. Didn’t expect to run into you two. Where are you headed? Mind if I join?”
The smile in Antony’s eyes faded as he stopped and blocked Fulbert’s path.
“Sorry, Mr. Ortega, we’re going to discuss business. Please stay here.”
The confrontation at the hospital yesterday was still fresh in their minds.
The smile in Fulbert’s eyes disappeared.

Sandria looked at the two men, raising an eyebrow.
What was going on between these two?
Just as she was thinking this, a car pulled up at the entrance.
The driver greeted Antony, “Mr. Merritt.”
The next moment, Fulbert opened the car door and got in first.
