Josie chuckled. ‘What “history” are we even talking about?’ 

Jaden was always hot-tempered and impulsive. He thought he was always right, never listened to explanations. 

Once he believed something, even if it was dead wrong, Jaden would never back down. 

In their previous life, because of Jaden’s stubbornness, their research took countless detours. Yet in the end, all the blame landed on Josie, with him saying she was the one who refused to listen. 

This time, Josie was determined to show him what it really meant to not listen. 

With a face full of mockery, Josie said, “Who told you I’m going back to Professor Lawson’s team?” 

“You…” Jaden was left speechless for the second time. 

For the first time in his life, Jaden felt his usual temper had no effect on Josie. Back then, all it took was him raising his voice, and she’d immediately apologize, coax him, and stay patient. 

‘Why is she different now? She actually talks back, even mocked me,’ Jaden wondered. 

Vincent was starting to get a headache, his brows practically knotted. “Josie, don’t be so impulsive. This isn’t a joke. You’ve been studying this major for four years. How can you just quit like that? 

“Did you forget what you said before? That you’d stand on top of this field with us and enjoy the highest honors in medicine?” 

“I haven’t forgotten.” Josie’s expression grew calm. “I’m still going to the top. I’ll still work for the highest honors in medicine. But that doesn’t mean I can’t change my major.” 

“Are you hearing yourself?” Jaden laughed sarcastically. “Switch majors now? Leave Professor Lawson’s team and still dream of standing at the top? You’re way too naive.” 

Josie completely lost her patience. “You should leave. I’ve already submitted my withdrawal from the team, and the major change is set. I won’t be changing my mind.” 

With that, Josie turned around. 

Natalie was secretly delighted. She hadn’t expected Josie to give up this easily. “Josie, can I ask what major you’re switching 

to?” 

“That’s none of your business.” Josie’s brows lowered. She had no intention of entertaining Natalie. 

Natalie was nothing but a leech, sinking her claws into David and his entire team. In their past life, Josie had foiled Natalie’s schemes more than once, saving the other seniors time and again. 

But in the end, those seniors, sweet-talked by Natalie’s honeyed words, only saw Josie as the villain. They not only humiliated her but even kicked her out of the team. 

Now, Josie wasn’t going to play the annoying busybody anymore. Natalie and her precious seniors could go love each other all they wanted. 

“Jaden?” Natalie, hitting a wall, looked aggrieved as she turned those pitiful eyes toward Jaden. 

Jaden couldn’t handle that look at all. He stormed forward and grabbed Josie’s arm. “Natalie asked you a question. Why aren’t you answering her?”

“If you’re sick, go get treated. Let go.” Josie said coldly, her eyes flashing cold. 

When Josie looked at Jaden, it was as if she was staring at an idiot.

Jaden froze. He had never seen Josie look at him like that – full of disdain and contempt. He could feel her looking down on him, humiliating him. 

By the time Jaden realized what was happening, anger had completely taken over.

“Josie, you’re unbelievable. If I ever care about you again, I’ll be a damn bastard. Natalie, let’s go.” Jaden grabbed Natalie and dragged her away. 

Vincent’s expression stiffened. He looked at the leaving Jaden, then turned to Josie. “Are you really sure about quitting the team?” 

“Yeah.” Josie barely lifted her eyelids, clearly losing patience. “If there’s nothing else, I’m leaving.” 

“Josie!” Vincent wasn’t ready to give up. “Don’t be mad at Aiden or Professor Lawson. They never wanted you out of the team. If you change your mind now, there’s still time. We’d welcome you back.” 

Josie let out a soft snort. “Thank you, but I don’t want to go back.” 

‘I’m not stupid. I’ve already been burned once. Why would I go back for more?’ Josie thought. 

Back at the dorm, Josie wasn’t the least bit affected. She simply kept reading her book. 

Adeline was baffled. She asked, “I just looked through your book, and it’s all about acupuncture. Are you seriously switching to acupuncture?” 

“Yes.” Josie didn’t even look up. 

Adeline was getting a little overwhelmed. Though she and Josie weren’t exactly close, after four years of living together, she had already considered Josie a friend. 

Adeline reminded her. “Josie, acupuncture is the most unpopular major in our whole school. You’re going from the hottest major to the coldest. Isn’t that a bit too drastic? 

“Have you really thought this through? You won’t regret it later? This isn’t some joke; it’s a lifelong decision. Don’t be impulsive. 

Josie knew Adeline was genuinely concerned, so she offered a bit more explanation. She replied, “I’ve thought it through. Learning acupuncture doesn’t mean I’m giving up on my original major. 

I’m just leaving, Professor Lawson’s team. It’s not as serious as you think. I need an internship spot and a mentor. 

“Professor Wilcourt is willing to take me in at a time like this, and I’m really grateful” 

Adeline caught onto something. She continued, “That Professor Lawson…” 

“I don’t want to talk about anything else. Bottom line is, I’m serious about this. It’s not a joke. I believe I can master acupuncture. Josie smiled at her, signaling she didn’t want to explain further. 

Adeline’s gossip-loving heart was about to explode, but she didn’t have the nerve to press her any further. She could only let 

her mind run wild. 

Suddenly, Adeline said, “By the way, there’s been a lot of drama on the forum. Aiden and Sean don’t seem to get along. A bunch of people are waiting for the fireworks.” 

“Got it.” Josie picked up her phone. “Thanks.”

Adeline waved it off. “Don’t be so polite. But if you really want to thank me, could you help me out with next month’s Medical Innovation Competition?”

Adeline’s words sparked a memory for Josie. In their previous life, she had still been in David’s team when Aiden signed up 

for the contest. 

The contest required teams of three to six members. Even though the innovation was Josie’s idea, she had planned it all, and even wrote the final thesis herself. 

But her name never appeared on the official team list. Aiden had said Josie already had plenty of accolades, while Natalie’s resume looked too thin in comparison. 

Aiden had said that they were a team and there should be no weak links. To balance things out, Natalie’s name would be on the entry list instead. 

After all, Natalie participated in the innovation process too. 

At the time, Aiden’s gentle and kind eyes had made Josie agree against her better judgment. 

Later, when they won the grand prize, the personal award money was 30 thousand dollars, but Natalie didn’t give her a single cent. 

Not only did they keep her out of the winnings, the entire team shamelessly claimed credit for her innovation, and not one of them thought to thank her. 

As if everything Josie did for them was something she owed. 

Josie let out a slow breath. “Have you already got a project proposal? Show me, I’ll help you review it.” 

Josie remembered in her past life, Delilah’s team never entered the innovation contest, but Adeline’s team had won first prize. 

‘If I give Adeline the innovation proposal from my past life and guide her through it, maybe that grand prize won’t be theirs this time, Josie thought. 

Once the thought came, it was impossible to suppress. 

Adeline hadn’t expected Josie to actually agree. She had only mentioned it casually, thinking it was too much to ask. 

Her own mentor was nowhere near David’s level. Adeline had tried to enroll in David’s classes before, but she never managed to get in. 

Now, being able to get advice from his students was a golden opportunity. 

Adeline brought over her laptop and said, “Take a look. This is what we’ve come up with so far. We’re just stuck on how to develop it further,” 

Josie was surprised to see that their idea was quite similar to the innovation she had proposed in her past life.
