with greater interests, of course I choose the latter.”
Sandria grew even more suspicious.
What exactly was Fulbert after? Other than her identity as Ms. Schroeder, she had nothing else worth scheming for.
But Sandria wasn’t afraid. Whether she was Ms. Schroeder or not, she was Sandria, and she would never back down from anything.
“Mr. Ortega, aren’t you afraid of being criticized for going back on your word like this?”
Faced with Sandria’s half–joking words, Fulbert wasn’t angry.
“Business cooperation is all about interests. In the face of interests, everyone is equal. But don’t worry, as for my co- operation with you, as long as you don’t end it, I won’t give it up on my own.”
“When it comes to relationships, I’m a very responsible man.”
Sandria was left speechless by his last sentence.
Lunatic. Time to sleep.
The next day.
Sandria got up especially early, took her laptop, and drove straight to Shield Technologies.
Underground parking lot.
Just as Sandria parked her car, someone got out of the car next to hers.
“Ms. Schroeder, our Mr. Merritt asked me to wait for you here. He’s not at the company right now and asked me to take you to him.”
She sized up the young man in front of her. He was indeed wearing a Shield Technologies uniform.
Sandria narrowed her eyes slightly and chuckled, “You lead the way, I’ll drive myself.”
Seeing that Sandria had no intention of getting out of her car, the man smiled and spoke.
“Ms. Schroeder, I’m the driver Mr. Merritt sent for you, here to serve you specifically. If you drive yourself, I’m afraid
I won’t be able to explain to Mr. Merritt later.”
Sandria got into the man’s car.
All the way, Sandria kept her head down, looking at her laptop.

She sensed a gaze fixed on her the whole time.
She frowned, looked up, and met the man’s eyes in the rearview mirror.
The man, quick–witted, looked away awkwardly.
“Sorry, Ms. Schroeder, you’re just so beautiful–more stunning than any celebrity…”
Sandria’s frown deepened. “Just focus on driving.”
The car kept moving, but for some reason, Sandria felt her mind growing foggy.
She shook her head. Why were the buildings outside the window starting to blur and double?
“Bang!”

By the time Sandria realized something was wrong, her vision had already gone black, and she knew nothing more.

“Bro, both the laptop and phone have lock screens. Can’t get in.”
“Now that we’ve got her, it’s best if we can talk things out.”
A somewhat familiar voice sounded in her ears.
With a splitting headache, Sandria opened her eyes and looked around, realizing she was in an unfamiliar room.
Recalling what happened before she passed out, she tried moving her hands tied behind her back–they were tightly bound.
So, she’d been kidnapped?!
Soon, two figures emerged from the inner room.
Seeing who was approaching, Sandria narrowed her eyes, forcing herself to stay calm. “Mr. Carson? Why are you ty- ing me up?”
“Ms. Schroeder, a pleasure to meet you.”
Zaiden walked over, smiling, but his narrow eyes were full of calculation.
“I’m sorry we have to meet this way, but there was no other choice, Ms. Schroeder, there’s something I’d like to dis- cuss with you. As long as you agree, you can walk out of here safe and sound today.”
Sandria lowered her eyes halfway. “And if I don’t agree?”
Zaiden smiled, took out a cigarette, put it in his mouth, took a deep drag, and exhaled a puff of smoke.
“Ms. Schroeder, don’t be so quick to refuse. It’s just a small matter, something that only takes a flick of your finger.”
“Since Mr. Merritt at Shield Technologies entrusted you with fixing the firewall, it proves you have the skills. The

system has survived with vulnerabilities for so long anyway, so why bother fixing them? Why not just let it be, Ms. Schroeder?”
