A few seconds later, she looked up again.
“Alright, I’ll work with you. But Mr. Ortega, you won’t be as meddlesome as you were today, will you? Are you go- ing to interfere with who I do business with?”
Sandria’s eyes sparkled, a hint of warning in her gaze.
“If that’s the case, then there’s no deal.”
A deep glint flashed in Fulbert’s dark eyes.
“Fine, we can continue the partnership, but you also need to keep your distance from other men. After all, you still have to be my girlfriend for a while longer.”
“That’s not a problem.”
After all, she had no plans to start a real relationship for now.
Soon, the car arrived at the apartment building.
As Sandria got out of the car, she twisted her ankle and stumbled.
Fulbert reacted quickly and caught her.
“What happened?”
Sandria looked at her broken high heel and suddenly laughed, raising her eyes to Fulbert.
“Since Mr. Ortega was so impressive just now, why don’t I trouble Mr. Ortega to carry me upstairs? As my ‘boyfriend,‘ you shouldn’t mind such a small favor, right?”
Sandria was in a playful mood.
After all, it was this dog of a man who had spoken to her like that just now.
But to her surprise, in the next second, the man raised his eyebrows and let out a low chuckle.
“Alright.”
As the last note of his voice fell, Sandria felt the world spin. When she came to her senses, she instinctively wrapped her arms around the man’s neck.
At the tip of her nose was Fulbert’s unique, custom–blended scent. Since she was already here, Sandria decided to just go with it.
She swung her calf, her fair ankle tracing a shimmering are through the air.

Fulbert chuckled softly, bouncing her up a little, her rounded hips pressed tightly against the crook of his arm.
“Hold on tight, or you might fall.”
Sandria narrowed her eyes slightly. “Mr. Ortega, if you dare get handsy again, our cooperation is off.”
Fulbert looked a bit innocent. “Hm? Ms. Schroeder, are you so easily teased now? After all, we’ve already kissed be- fore. This shouldn’t be a big deal, right?”
Sandria: “”
The elevator chimed with a “ding.”
“We’re home.”
Sandria couldn’t wait to get out of his arms.
Her feet, white as jade, landed on the smooth floor. Fulbert had taken the lead so smoothly, when it was usually San- dria who did the teasing.
Today’s little scene had truly caught her off guard.
The moment the door closed.
Sandria let out a breath and casually kicked her high heels aside.
She rubbed her swollen ankle. Luckily, it was just a twist–some ointment would fix it.
After washing away the scent of makeup and perfume, Sandria flopped forward, landing face–first into the soft, plush
bed.
Her phone screen slid before her eyes a few times, and a familiar number called in.
After she answered, Ashlan’s voice came through.
“What’s up, bro?”
“Sandy, Antony is a young and promising man. He built Shield Technologies from scratch without relying on the family at all. What do you think of him?”
Sandria felt a bit helpless at his words.
She had originally thought Fulbert was just misunderstanding, but now it seemed her brother really wanted to set her up with Antony. “Bro.” Sandria cut him off, her fingertip rubbing the back of her phone.
“I’ve just returned to the Schroeder family. My top priority right now is to improve myself. Antony is a great business partner, but as for choosing a life partner, I’m not considering it at the moment.”
Ashlan let out a long, quiet sigh.

“Alright, if you really don’t like him, Grandpa and I will respect your decision.”
Respect her decision.
Sandria was dazed for a moment.
