lbert let out a cold laugh, the sound full of undisguised mockery.
“Yours? Funny, I seem to recall you already broke up with her. After all, when you pushed her out as a shield for Courtney, you didn’t hesitate at all.”
Every word was like a knife, stabbing precisely at Florentino’s most painful spot.
On the other end of the line, Florentino’s breath caught sharply.
“Th–that was between us. You shouldn’t be stealing my girl. Anyway, let me talk to Sandy.”
“She’s busy. She’s taking a shower.”
Fulbert set down his wine glass, his voice turning cold and unyielding.
“And just to clarify, from today on, she’s mine. Florentino, this time, I’m serious.”
That one sentence landed like a bombshell.
On the other end of the line, there was a deathly silence.
Florentino was completely stunned.
He had imagined countless possibilities–maybe Fulbert was just playing around, maybe Sandria was doing this just to provoke him.
The only thing he hadn’t considered was that Fulbert would actually say the word “serious.”
He hadn’t believed it before, but now that he knew Sandria’s true identity, he couldn’t deny it anymore.
“From now on, stay away from her. I don’t like other people clinging to my girlfriend.”
With that icy remark, Fulbert didn’t even wait for Florentino’s response before hanging up.
He then casually tossed his phone onto the bar, turned around, and met Sandria’s sparkling eyes.
The corners of his lips lifted as he stepped closer to her, his warm fingertips gently brushing her cheek.
“Feel better now?”
Sandria did not dodge, letting his fingers, tinged with a faint electric current, brush across her skin.
She smiled, her eyes curving, “Not bad.”
In the air, something was quietly fermenting.

Fulbert’s eyes glimmered with amusement. “So, is there a reward?”
#1
The woman exhaled a fragrant breath, her eyes sultry and teasing, making one’s heart itch. “What kind of reward do you want?”
Fulbert curled his lips, just about to speak, when-
“Ding.”
His phone chimed again, signaling a new message.
He withdrew his hand, picked up the phone and glanced at it, his handsome brows knitting slightly.
“Bert, are you really not interested in Ms. Schroeder?”
Fulbert typed out ‘not interested‘ and then turned off his phone.
“What’s wrong?” Sandria asked casually.
Fulbert raised an eyebrow. “My grandfather wants me to meet the newly found heiress of the Schroeder family. It’s been the talk of the town lately.”
Hearing this, Sandria’s eyes flickered with mischief. “Oh? Aren’t you going to meet her?”
“Not interested.”
Fulbert turned off his phone screen and let out a soft laugh.
“Ms. Schroeder? Sounds like trouble to me. Besides, with the Schroeder family’s situation, a naive young girl would be wise to stay away. If she’s foolish, she’ll probably be devoured without a trace left behind.”
Sandria looked at him and finally understood–he really didn’t know.
The smile in her eyes deepened, sparkling with cunning, her voice soft and sweet.
“Mr. Ortega seems to have quite an opinion about this Ms. Schroeder, doesn’t he?”
Fulbert let out a low chuckle.
“It’s not that I have an opinion. It’s just that compared to some heiress I’ve never met, I’m… much more interested in you. No matter how beautiful she is, could she possibly be more attractive than you?”
The man’s deep voice was like a rich red wine, intoxicating and seductive.
Sandria’s eyes sparkled as she was about to speak.
“Bzzz–bzzz-”
On the bar, Fulbert’s phone started vibrating wildly again, like a harbinger of doom.
On the screen, the name “Tino” appeared once more.

A trace of impatience flashed in Fulbert’s eyes, but he still swiped to answer.
This time, he didn’t put it on speaker.
But Florentino’s hysterical roar still pierced through the receiver, coming through loud and clear.
“Fulbert, you fucking knew who she was all along, didn’t you!”
