Chapter 110
Chapter110
She had wanted to move back to the Chavez’s mansion to keep
her grandfather company after quitting her job, but since the
divorce wasn’t finalized yet, Ellsworth’s grandfather would
definitely talk to Raymond about it. She was afraid Raymond
would be put in a difficult position, so she hadn’t moved out.
She resolved to work harder and try to buy an apartment of her
own as soon as possible.
After saying this, Harriet gathered her things and her notebook
and went back to the guest room next door.
While Harriet busied herself moving things back and forth,
Ellsworth walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and lit a
cigarette.
A faint cloud of smoke drifted from his lips. Although
Ellsworth’s expression didn’t change much, his mood was
inevitably affected.
He hadn’t come home these past few days because every time
they met, Harriet would bring up the divorce.
Chapter110
As Harriet picked up her skincare products from the dressing table, Ellsworth walked over to the coffee table, bent down to stub out his cigarette, and looked at Harriet as he said, “Kelsey had a heart transplant.”
Ellsworth suddenly spoke to her, and Harriet stopped in her tracks, holding her skincare products.
She looked up at Ellsworth, gazing at him for a while before
saying coldly, “I understand. I’ll keep my distance from her in the future. But sometimes Kelsey is a bit too enthusiastic. If possible, maybe you could remind her to keep her distance
from me as well.”
Harriet took Ellsworth’s explanation as a warning-a warning not
to upset Kelsey.
-After all, she had confronted Kelsey before, and even made
some veiled remarks.
At this moment, the only thing Harriet was grateful for was that
Kelsey hadn’t fallen ill in front of her. Otherwise, she wouldn’t
have been able to explain herself. If anything serious had
happened, Ellsworth would probably have made her pay with
her life.
Forget it.
Chapter 110
She would just stay far away from them and not provoke
anyone.
Harriet’s interpretation left Ellsworth speechless.
He only wanted to tell her that he was taking care of Kelsey
because of her health.
Meeting Ellsworth’s gaze, Harriet said, “I’m going now. You
should get some rest early too.”
With that, she left, carrying her skincare products.
Watching the door close, Ellsworth turned to look at the yard
and rubbed his temples.
In the days that followed, Ellsworth came home on time, but
since both of them left early and returned late, and Harriet had
moved back to the guest room next door, they hardly saw each
other.
When the weekend came, Ellsworth was working overtime at
the office, and Harriet was busy with her own affairs.
At his desk, Ellsworth was reading documents while Kelsey sat
relaxed on the armrest of his chair.
Chapter110
They weren’t overly intimate, but there was still a hint of
ambiguity.
After reading the documents in his hand, Ellsworth said
emotionlessly, “There shouldn’t be any major issues with the
cooperation on Reginald’s side, but he probably won’t negotiate
with Rushtar Group. When the time comes, you and Noel can
sign a third-party agreement and work with them under the
Townsend Group’s name.”
Sitting on the armrest, Kelsey smiled and said, “Alright, I’ll do
whatever you say, Ells.”
After all, without Ellsworth’s involvement, Reginald wouldn’t
even meet with her, and there would be no hope for the
cooperation.
-After finishing the work talk, just as Kelsey was about to bring
up something else, Ellsworth’s phone rang.
He glanced at the screen-it was a call from Johnathan.
Ellsworth picked up the phone, and Johnathan’s voice quickly
came through, sounding a bit roguish as he asked, “Ells, guess who I just saw while helping a friend with a house?”
Ellsworth asked nonchalantly, “Who?”
Chapter 110
On the other end, Johnathan glanced at the reception area outside, saw Harriet holding a few flyers and looking up at the listings on the wall, and said unhurriedly, “Hara. She seems to be looking at houses, maybe planning to buy one.”
After Johnathan finished speaking, Ellsworth’s expression
visibly darkened.
He then replied expressionlessly, Got it, and hung up.
But just as he hung up on Johnathan, Patsy called, saying that Grandma had been suspicious lately, always wondering if he and Harriet had finalized the paperwork, and asked him to bring
Harriet home for dinner.
On this end, Ellsworth looked helpless and lazily replied, Got it,
before hanging up again.
Lately, it seemed like there were endless things to deal with.
After Ellsworth finished both calls, Kelsey finally had a chance
to speak to him.
She placed both hands on Ellsworth’s shoulders, kneading them.
as she coquettishly said, “Ells, the deal with Galaxy Innovations
is almost finalized too. Why not give yourself a break today?”
Chapter110
“Let’s go see a movie later, and then have Mablarian cuisine for
dinner, okay?”
