Chapter106

After a moment of silence, he got straight to the point. “She insists on divorcing me. Won’t even let me touch her.”

Hahahaha!

Hearing this, Johnathan burst out laughing, genuinely delighted. He said, “Looks like Hara is really going head-to-head with you

this time. But honestly, you had it coming.”

You’ve been stirring up trouble for three years. Serves you right.

With Johnathan laughing heartily, Ellsworth looked at him coldly

and asked, “Did I call you out just to hear you laugh?”

-Johnathan replied nonchalantly, “Talking to me won’t help. You

need to go back and make it up to Hara.”

Ellsworth asked, “How do I make it up to her?”

Ellsworth asked him how to appease his wife, and Johnathan

found it amusing.

Reaching for the cigarettes and lighter on the table, Johnathan lit one for himself, took a drag, exhaled a smoke ring, and asked

with a smile, “You want me to give you some advice?”

He continued, “Weren’t you the one who told Darrick and me

not to interfere, not to play matchmaker, and said you didn’t like

Hara’s type?”

Johnathan threw Ellsworth’s own words back at him. Ellsworth,

holding his wine glass, suddenly looked at him in surprise.

Seeing this, Johnathan went on, “Alright, alright, staring at me

won’t help. Just hold the wedding first, then make time to spend more with Hara. Put her feelings first in everything, make her your top priority. Women aren’t that hard to please, and

Hara is even easier to make happy.”

Harriet’s mother passed away early, and her father was busy

with work and later also passed away.

She grew up with her grandfather. Girls like her actually lack.

love. If you treat her a little better, she’ll remember it for a long

time and treat you even better in return.

After Johnathan gave his advice, Ellsworth withdrew his gaze

indifferently and said nothing more.

Seeing that Ellsworth didn’t respond to his advice, Johnathan

said, “I’ve given you the tips. Whether you follow them is up to

you. But if you keep going on like before, I’m afraid Hara really

won’t stay with you.”

After Johnathan finished speaking, Ellsworth put down his wine

glass, picked up a cigarette and lighter from the coffee table,

and lit one for himself.

Smoke curled in the air, and Ellsworth’s expression remained

calm.

There was a long silence, and Johnathan didn’t try to persuade

him any further.

In fact, Ellsworth knew better than anyone what to do and how

to make amends. It was just a matter of whether he was willing

to do it or not.

Otherwise, how would he know how to treat Kelsey well?

***

The next day.

When Harriet woke up, it was already seven in the morning.

Ellsworth hadn’t come home the night before.

After getting ready and having breakfast at home, Harriet went

to work. She had just arrived at the office when Grayson came

over and told her that Reginald wanted to see her in his office.

Harriet took her notebook and pen upstairs. Reginald looked at

the chair across from his desk and said, “Sit.”

Harriet pulled out the chair and sat down. Reginald got straight to the point and asked, “Harriet, if I cooperate with the Townsend Group, would you have any concerns?”

Before Harriet could answer, Reginald continued, “As for why I

want to work with the Townsend Group, first, it’s to fulfill the

task of collaborating with private enterprises. Second, Galaxy

Innovations has quite a few projects right now and does need

dedicated funding.”

“The Townsend Group is financially strong, and I appreciate

Ellsworth’s abilities. He’s also very familiar with our projects.

But if I choose to work with the Townsend Group, Ellsworth will

probably bring Rushtar Group along. For me, it’s all about

getting investment for the project, so I probably won’t refuse.”

Reginald was very direct, always playing it straight.

Listening to him, Harriet remained calm and unhurried, replying,

“Mr. Barton, you are the boss of Galaxy Innovations. The

company is yours to run. I will follow the leadership’s

arrangements and instructions.”

She had just joined the company and hadn’t created any tangible value yet. What opinion could she possibly have?

Besides, it’s just using money for research-money is money, no

matter whose it is.

The fact that Reginald even asked her already showed great

respect.

After Harriet stated her position, Reginald said, “As long as you

have no concerns and it won’t affect your work, that’s good. I’ll

consider the rest later.”

Harriet said, “Alright, Mr. Barton. I’ll get back to work then.”

“Go ahead.”

Back in her office, Harriet quickly immersed herself in her work.

In the days that followed, Ellsworth still didn’t come home.

Harriet didn’t look for him, nor did she ask about him.
