Chapter103
Chapter103
Isn’t that Harriet’s family car? Isn’t it their marital property?
Although he wasn’t married and had little experience with
relationships, he still understood whose money was whose, and
whose property belonged to whom.
Since Reginald had spoken, Harriet nodded at him. “Alright, Mr.
Barton. See you at the office tomorrow.”
In truth, Harriet didn’t like getting close to Kelsey-partly because
of her relationship with Ellsworth, and also, again, because of
her relationship with Ellsworth. Besides, she wasn’t stupid; she
understood every word and every intention behind what Kelsey
said.
But since Reginald had told her to go with Ellsworth, she
couldn’t very well ask Reginald to take her home, so she agreed.
Seeing this, Ellsworth said, “I’ll go get the car.”
Noel had just been sent off to handle other matters, so for now,
Ellsworth had to drive himself.
A moment later.
Chapter 103
A black Maybach pulled up, and Grayson came over to pick up Reginald. Reginald greeted Harriet once more before getting in the car and leaving first.
As Ellsworth’s car slowly came to a stop, Kelsey, beaming, walked over in her high heels, her white dress fluttering in the evening breeze. She opened the back door and smiled at
Harriet. “Hara, get in.”
Kelsey’s initiative was entirely that of a hostess.
Harriet replied in a calm voice, “Thank you, Kelsey.”
Harriet bent down and got into the car. With a bang, Kelsey
closed the door, then opened the front passenger door and sat
down with an air of confidence.
In the back seat, Harriet glanced at Kelsey indifferently, then
withdrew her gaze.
She must be very used to sitting in Ellsworth’s front passenger
seat.
That seat was reserved for her by Ellsworth, and he had even
locked the door for her before.
Thinking of this, Harriet silently took out her phone from her

bag and opened an app to read the news.
In the driver’s seat, Ellsworth glanced at Harriet in the rearview
mirror. Seeing her completely unconcerned with her
surroundings, absorbed in her phone as if she were just taking
a taxi.
Once Kelsey had fastened her seatbelt, Ellsworth started the
car.
At this moment, Kelsey turned around, her face full of smiles,
and called out, “Hara.”
Hearing Kelsey call her, Harriet looked up calmly and met her
gaze with composure. “What is it?”
Kelsey asked, “Hara, do you think there’s a good chance
Reginald will work with us? He seemed to get along well with
Ells today.”
Harriet replied in a flat tone, “I’ve only just joined Galaxy
Innovations, so I’m not very familiar with either the company or
Reginald. I can’t really analyze that question.”
Listening to Harriet, Kelsey said, “I feel like Reginald really likes you. Even though you just joined Galaxy Innovations, and your academic background is…”

At this point, realizing she might have touched a sore spot, Kelsey quickly changed tack. “Anyway, after spending the whole day together, I can tell Reginald really likes you. You’ll definitely have a bright future at Galaxy Innovations.”
Every sentence about Reginald liking her-Harriet stared straight
at Kelsey, phone in hand.
Harriet’s expression was serious, making Kelsey feel a bit guilty.
She quickly smiled and explained, “Hara, don’t get me wrong.
When I say Reginald likes you, I mean the way a teacher
appreciates a student, or a boss values an employee.”
In the driver’s seat, Ellsworth gripped the steering wheel with
both hands, glancing at Kelsey with a cold expression.
Even though Kelsey had explained, Harriet still calmly said to -her, “Although my academic background doesn’t meet Galaxy
Innovations’ standards, the patents I obtained during my studies are still highly valuable for development. Besides, degrees aren’t a problem for me.”
“I joined Galaxy Innovations to create more value for them. It’s only natural that Mr. Barton appreciates me, and I’ll make sure his appreciation is well-deserved.”
Hearing this, Kelsey quickly smiled and echoed, “Of course, of

course. Hara, you’re so smart. In a few years, you’ll catch up
with everyone and even surpass them. I really believe in you,
Hara.”
With both hands on the steering wheel, Ellsworth let out a
chuckle at Harriet’s seriousness. He glanced at her in the
rearview mirror and said, “You’re quite proud of yourself, aren’t
you?”
At Ellsworth’s words, Harriet looked at him nonchalantly and
replied breezily, “Not bad. After all, Reginald doesn’t just
appreciate anyone.”
…Kelsey.
She felt that Harriet was implying that Reginald didn’t think
much of her.
At this point, Harriet looked calmly at Ellsworth and asked in a mild tone, “Ellsworth, with a wife like me, don’t you feel proud.
when Mr. Barton praises me?”
Still gripping the steering wheel, Ellsworth glanced at Harriet in the rearview mirror again. Seeing her indifferent expression and her determination to argue to the end, he couldn’t help but
smile.
